MICHIGAN HERRNHUT PRAYER INITIATIVE PLAN

   Transformation Michigan will directly be co-laboring with The Oak Initiative as a “Michigan Branch”.  A number of pro-active prayer solutions are being brought forward in Michigan that will result in transformation.  We believe these solutions will be used across the nation.  Transformation Michigan (www.TransformMI.com) is supporting and bringing forth these prayer strategies below.  Michigan will be the next Herrnhut (Watch of the  Lord).  Apply these below as intercession will unlock any safe in the world.

1. A Michigan Declaration – “We will be the next Herrnhutt!”

   What is Herrnhut?  Why is this name so significant and symbolic for today?  The name means watch of the Lord.  This prayer movement began in 1727 and helped birth the “Great Awakening” in America.  We are declaring that Michigan will be the next Herrnhut and a model to the nation.  Churches, ministries, and individuals will take prayer watches within each of our 83 counties in Michigan.  The prayer closet is a key as individuals must take personal time before the Lord.  Sign up to take a watch at www.TransformMI.com.  Can you commit to ½ hour a week or more?

*********************************************************************   4.  5AM PRAYER - LARRY JACKSON - OAK INITIATIVE

   What if people could join together from around the nation on a prayer conference call at 5AM to 5:30AM Monday thru Friday?  People from around the nation could be in agreement for breastplate prayers for individuals and cities.  The call is led by Bishop Larry Jackson.  Can you see the body of Christ joining together across the nation in persistent and consistent prayer as “priests of the Lord” (1 Peter 2:4-5)? We are able to come before His throne (Hebrews 4:16) in behalf of a lost and dying world.

“And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the foreigner shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.  But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, they shall call you the servants of our God.  You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory you shall boast.  Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs.” (Isaiah 61:4-7)

   It will take discipline and commitment as this will grow and sweep the nation.  We are requesting the people of Michigan to take part in this effort.  Can Michigan take the lead and join those who are already co-laboring in prayer at 5AM Monday through Friday?  I believe other states will join in this effort.  A momentous swing has begun that will change the course of America.

We need individuals in the body of Christ to step forth and seek the Lord in the secret place (Psalm 91:1) or prayer closet (Matthew 6:6) on a daily or weekly basis.  It is our responsibility as priests of the Lord (1 Peter 2:5, Revelation 1:5-6) to lift up people before God who are unsaved.

A.  WHAT IS A QUALIFYING HOUSE OF PRAYER THAT CAN PARTICIPATE?

1        Any church with scheduled prayer times - whether weekly, biweekly or monthly.

2        Any group who meets in a neutral location, home, business, school, or a church.

3        Any ministry in the state of Michigan who realizes the importance of prayer.

4        Any existing house of prayer ministry who has regularly scheduled prayer times.

5        Any individual in a county who desires to commit to a time slot of prayer.

B.   MICHIGAN HOUSE OF PRAYER HERRNHUTT DECLARATIONS

-      Michigan will be the first state in the nation to connect its counties in “Day and Night 24/7 Prayer” and Bible reading - until Jesus Christ returns.

-      Churches, ministries, businesses, governmental, school prayer groups, and individuals will be connected in the body of Christ who realize the importance of prayer in the season of time we are in.

-      University prayer groups and our youth will be incorporated into Michigan’s House of Prayer Initiative.

-      This plan that is formulated will be a model and utilized by many states in our nation.

-      Utilizing a state prayer guide - Michigan will no longer be the “tail” but be the “head” through this prayer initiative, transforming our state in seven key areas.

-      A state prayer guide will be developed that will cover seven inclusive aspects of society: Family/Social Issues; Church; Government/Law; Education/Science; Business/Economy; Arts/Entertainment; and Media/Communications.

-      Continuous 24/7 Day and Night Prayer will release the provision needed (physical and spiritual) through the inheritance we have as sons and daughters in the Cross of Jesus Christ.

-      Love and the Cross of Jesus Christ will be the hallmark of the “Michigan House of Prayer Initiative”.  Forgiveness, restoration, reconciliation, compassion, unity, the presence of God, His glory, and desperate persistent prayer will help transform our state and nation.

-      Every church, ministry, prayer group, and individual will maintain its own identity and call in the body of Christ.  Christ will be the head of His body!

-      One day a week will be set aside for fasting in this prayer initiative by those who desire and are able.

*We will pray in Jesus name and give Him honor and glory. (Hebrews 7:24-24, Romans

*We believe that persistent, passionate, believing, desperate prayer can transform

Michigan. (Mark 11:22-24, James 5:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:17)

*We believe that God will heal the land (Michigan) if we humble ourselves, seek His

face, turn away from sin, and pray. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

*We believe we should pray for all men to be saved, to pray for those in authority over

us, for transformation in Michigan and in our nation, as well as laborers to go into the

harvest. (I Timothy 2:1-5, Luke 10:2)

*We believe in unity of the church! (John 17, Psalm 133, Matthew 21:13)

E.  Discerning the Times - (Building the Church) - Rick Joyner

    I was told that for the church to become what she is called to be, we would need to understand and implement the wisdom of the shopping malls. Not being much of a shopper, this caught me by surprise, but once I understood it, I immediately saw how profound it is and how it applies.

     A shopping mall is built around two or more large anchor department stores and then dozens of smaller, specialty stores. We could liken the large anchor stores to mega churches and the smaller specialty stores to local congregations and other ministries. We might think that the large department stores would rather be alone and not have competitors in a mall, but the opposite is true. They have learned that the more stores there are, the more traffic is generated, and the more all will prosper by this. This is so established that none of the large department stores will join a new mall venture unless there will be other large anchor stores.

     Of course, the large department stores may specialize to a degree, with one being high-end and another less expensive, but they have learned to work together. They also work together to help the smaller stores in the mall. As one department store manager told me, no one wants to see another store going out of business in the mall. As a result, stores sometimes get together to shore up competitors that are struggling. My father-in-law, who was a district manager for one of the large department store chains, said the last thing they ever wanted to see in a mall was a store going out of business. What would happen if the church in a city started thinking of their fellow churches that way? The Scriptures tell us in places like John 17, that the world would start to believe the gospel of love that we preach and that Jesus was indeed sent by the Father.

     As I am daily trying to discern what the Lord is doing in the world and what trends are emerging in the body of Christ, it is extremely rare to see churches or ministries cooperating with each other. This is a terrible blight on the whole of the church, and it is certainly a main reason for many of the troubles in the church today. We are all members of Christ’s body, and if one member becomes cancerous, or infected, it threatens the health of the whole body. We have a basic interest in helping the whole body stay healthy.

    The church still has a long way to go to become all that she is called to be, but there already is a foundation of greatness that can be built upon that is creating some of the greatest advances for the gospel in history, with the potential for even greater things. This is beyond human engineering. The Lord is building His church, and it will be all that He desires it to be. However, one of the greatest stumbling blocks to any church or church leader’s inclusion is jealousy and the fear that feeds the jealousy.

     In an army, there may be some friendly competition between the infantry, the armor, and the artillery, but when the battle begins, they all love each other! They also begin to do all that they can to help each other. They are well aware that without any one unit, not only could they lose the battle, but they could put their lives in jeopardy. Because of the pressures now coming on the church in America, there is a movement toward unity like I have never seen in my lifetime. We may have setbacks, and I would expect serious attacks on this unity, but I have no doubt that the unity required for us to be what we are called to be is not only now possible, but sure.

     How can we overcome jealousy if it has come into our hearts? Begin to promote the very ones we have been jealous of. Robin McMillan tells the story of how he was once tempted to be jealous of me when I was able to buy a new car when he, at the time, was a pastor of a small, struggling congregation and was driving a beat-up older model. However, Robin resisted the feelings of jealousy and began to rejoice that I had been able to get a new car. His heart changed quickly and almost immediately, someone provided for him to not only get a new car, but he very same model I had. This sounds like a small thing, but it meant so much to Robin that he got a vision for resisting envy, seeing it as the key to a release of the grace of God in the lives of many people. He is right about this. Every present stronghold in our hearts can be turned into a great victory for not only us, but for many others as well.

     I, too, have learned that there is something about resisting envy and doing the opposite of what envy would have us to do that truly pleases God and brings a special measure of favor from Him. Tommy Tenney likes to say, “One moment of the favor of God is worth a lifetime of effort.” I believe this is sound biblical truth, and resisting envy seems to quickly bring God’s favor. The kingdom is built on the grace and favor of God.

     The best time to overcome envy is when it arises in our hearts. Therefore, we must learn to seize every opportunity to overcome a stronghold by recognizing it, not covering it up or denying it, but confessing it and repenting by doing something in the opposite spirit, such as loving those we have feelings of envy toward. If it is within us and we deny it, we can count on others seeing it, and it will hinder our progress, possibly more than any other thing. Do not let jealousy have any place in your heart for anyone. Go on a war against it by resolving to love, and you will be amazed at how much better things will go for you as well.

F.  Helpful Prayer Strategy for each County

1. A house or houses of prayer (defined in part B) should be established in each county where the churches across streams can come together "as one". Larger counties will certainly have the potential for multiple houses of prayer. Identify the connectors to build and encourage those prayer houses already in place.

2. Provide an opportunity to bring the greater praying church together by allowing each to maintain their identity and pray in their own facility. Days would be chosen throughout the year where churches would select 1 and 2 hour blocks of time to pray for a 12 or 24 hour time period on pre-selected days. This process below will begin to materialize in 2008 in counties throughout our state.

G.  EXAMPLE TWELVE HOUR TIME BLOCK ON ONE CALENDAR DAY

*Churches will volunteer for time slots!  It can be for 1/2 hour, an hour, or 2 hours.

12 Noon-2PM - Baptist Church

2-4PM - Assembly of God

4-6PM - Free Methodist

6PM-8PM - Pentecostal Church

8-10PM - Evangelical Free Church

10-12Midnight - Independent or Non-Denominational Church

EXAMPLE TWENTY FOUR HOUR TIME BLOCK FOR ONE CALENDAR DAY

H.  A BLUEPRINT TO ACTIVATE THE MICHIGAN HOUSE OF PRAYER ENDEAVOR

1. Identify Connectors or churches/ministries/individuals that have the same seed of vision within them regarding the Transformation Michigan vision. This would also include identifying all existing prayer groups and leaders in a particular county. These contacts are the base of people to gather and invite for smaller mini-gatherings.

2. Set up mini and regional gatherings/meetings to explain the vision and recruit to initiate the process in those counties represented.
    
3. Encourage and equip individuals in respective counties to be the runners and carriers of the vision. This is the duplication and multiplication process that is necessary to succeed. What is already working in our advantage is those who have gone before us and already moving in this vision in a city or region. Our role then is to be part in connecting and networking to a larger statewide picture.
    
4. The map on Transformation Michigan will post all the data for each county to show the prayer activity that is developing. Larger counties will be broken into sections. A locater map would be utilized to identify houses of prayer when viewed by an inquirer. Individuals would be guided towards the existing prayer activity in that particular county using the website - www.TransformMi.com - as a reference tool.
    
5. Larger conferences hosted by Transformation Michigan and other Endorsing partners. would fan the flames. 
    
6. E-mail newsletter, snail mail and word of mouth will enable the communication process to help further "unity" in our diversity.
    
7. Initially, one prayer house (see definition above for what constitutes a prayer house) will be found for each county to stand in the gap.

NOTE: Duplication and multiplication are the keys for acceleration.
