Dear Pastor/Prayer Leader/Intercessor,

We desire to meet the prayer needs of those who are in authority over us. These are men and women who have been positioned to advance the Kingdom of God in the places they occupy whether in the church, government, media, business, family, arts or educational system. It is a good thing to get behind them and support them in unified one accord prayer. We will also be posting national calls for prayer when possible from such individuals as Lou Engle (The Call) and other national prayer leaders.

This section will be updated on a bi-monthly basis. We are in process of connecting with leaders across our state to contribute insights that affect all of us – especially here in Michigan.

Call to Prayer – Lou Engle – California Supreme Court - (Marriage)

On March 5th, one of the most significant court cases in America’s history will take place.  The California Supreme Court will hear arguments regarding the overturning of the vote of the people last year to pass Proposition 8, which defines marriage between a man and a woman.  If this vote is overturned, not only will it set a major precedent of the court’s power over the will of the people, but it will likely be the flash point that will determine the future of America as liberal and homosexual agendas will disseminate throughout the educational systems and into the very fiber of American culture.  The California State Senate just ruled against the peoples’ vote and asked the court to overthrow the defining of marriage as between a man and a woman.  Senator Leno likened the people who voted for Prop 8 to the Germans who voted for the Nazi Regime.

During these past three months since President Obama’s election, the voices of rage against Judeo-Christian values and against the church have been emboldened to use inflammatory language and pass bills and laws that are anti-Christian in their very nature.  When senators use such language, persecution is close at hand.  We are in a desperate moment in American history.  Everyone is pointing to the severe crisis of our economy, but I am convinced it is only an indicator of a massive moral decline America has slid into.  It is time to pray, humble ourselves, and rid ourselves of moral compromise in the Church.  If the salt loses its savor, it is only good for being thrown out and trampled under the foot of man.

Today we are calling the Church across the nation to pray.

Take this moment and hear His call to humility, fasting and repentance.  If we do this, God can deal with kings and judges like He haunted Nebuchadnezzar with dreams and removed Herod by the angel of the Lord.  This hearing today will be followed by a 90-day period in which the court must make a decision.  Pray for these judges that the hand of God will influence their minds and hearts, that the fear of the Lord would fall upon them, and that dreams would invade their world, their wives, their children, and their innermost thoughts.  Pray that God would restrain principalities and powers that have mustered their forces of demons to seize this nation through this door in California.  Pray for an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit in California and America.  Pray that God would raise up righteous leaders and bring down the unrighteous ones.  Pray for the cleansing of sexual compromise and divorce in the church so that she can reclaim spiritual authority.  Finally, pray that the love of God would be poured out on those struggling with homosexuality across this nation.  Oh that the power of God, the power of the gospel, would be released again to free the captives!

This is a moment in time that calls for crisis intercession.

To resign to an inevitable collapse of society is sin, for throughout history God has moved with amazing power to change the courses of nations and overthrow the wrongdoers.  Just look at Elijah’s confrontation with Ahab and Jezebel.  This could be our Elijah moment.

Prayer Alerts for Michigan’s Government, Economy and the Church!

PRAY:  That any “hate crimes” bill in Michigan that may be passed in our state and nation would be stopped.  This bill if finally passed would muzzle the mouths of preachers and individuals to speak against homosexuality.  This is the beginning of and onslaught of unrighteousness that will attempt to overtake our state and nation.  In Jesus name this will not happen in our state or nation!!!

PRAY:  That the resources of heaven will flow down into the economy in our state.  Small business will be facing tremendous tax increases here in Michigan as legislation passed this past year goes into effect.  The small business community will be shell shocked when they see what they will owe.  Many will have no choice but to go out of business.  This will affect all of us so may the resources of heaven come down in Jesus name.

PRAY:  That the new members in our state house will make choices that will align with God’s Word.  May they be men and women of Godly conviction and not be pressured by special interest groups to make choices that run against the Commandments of God. 

PRAY:  That the swing vote on the MI Supreme court will vote and stand for God’s righteousness.  May the Lord visit Justice Elizabeth Weaver in the night seasons.  She has not remained true in past votes for social conservatism.  There are 3 conservative and 3 liberal judges and her vote will determine the road Michigan will be on the next 2 years.

PRAY:  That the black and white church would unify in our state and be one church exalting righteousness standing for the truth of God’s Word first and foremost.  African Americans in our state have the influence to turn back abortion and same sex marriage if God’s truth and righteousness would be uplifted over culture.  The white and Hispanic church must rise up in unity along with them to be a house united and not a divided one on these issues.    

PRAY: That the church in Michigan would not draw back, keep silent, and accept and relinquish the ground the enemy is attempting to take.  Instead let them rise up in the name of the Lord and not simply stand, but let them strike deep into the enemy’s camp and take back ground in the political arena.

PRAY: That the church in Michigan would wake up, be convicted and come under the fear of God.  May the pulpits come aflame with God’s truth and the people demand a return to Godly principles in state and national government.

PRAY: That as God shakes everything that can be shaken in our state, that what the enemy planned for evil can be turned to good.   

PRAY:  That witty inventions and technologies would not only be birthed but carried out in Michigan so our state can be impacted economically in such a way that it would affect our nation.

PRAY:  For Barack Obama's eyes to be opened regarding abortion and same sex marriage and the fear of the Lord to come over him.  Pray that he would be surrounded by Godly council and willingly or unwillingly be forced to follow God's plans and purposes.  God can turn the heart of a king like a river so may his heart be turned in Jesus name!

PRAY:  That the African American Christians would apply pressure on President Obama to make pro-life and pro-marriage (traditional) decisions. 
                                                         
PRAY: That the Lord would confound every attempt made by our MI state house, senate,   governor, state Supreme Court, the President, US Supreme Court, and finally Congress to go against God’s will and that nothing will be able to be done in darkness or secret, but that all will brought to light and all that is hidden would be revealed.

PRAY:  That all that is hidden and done in secret in the political arena would be revealed and that Godly wisdom and revelation would be given to face the challenges we will face as a state and nation.

PRAY:  That we as a state will be prepared to face any disasters or future challenges that may affect Michigan.  Many are saying the "bird flu" will be a worldwide challenge that will take many lives in the future.  May the blood of the Lamb of God (Jesus Christ) be over our homes, state and nation.

         PRAYER REQUEST FOR THE GOVERNOR

We must lift up Governor Granholm in prayer.  The task she has to lead Michigan in the present economic time is a difficult one to say the least.  We must stop all criticism and accusation and pray for those in authority over us.  The state of Michigan can be changed with leadership that is God directed with a strategy from heaven.  During her inauguration in 2004, Governor Granholm laid her hands on a Bible and called for "transformation" in Michigan.  May this be a declaration for our state where we can agree in prayer. 

NOTE:  This is not only a republican or democrat challenge, but we must come together in unity in our diversity.  We the church can bring the commanded blessing to our state through prayer and fasting.  

Pray for our Governor:
Pray that she would have wisdom and understanding to lead our state.
Pray that she would receive the strategy to take MI out of the economic recession we are experiencing.
Pray she would be able to attract new technology, businesses, and jobs.
Pray that she would see that righteousness exalts a nation or state – Proverbs 14:34.
Pray that the Governor would call a day of fasting and prayer in Michigan to connect 83 counties in our state.  This would be an official proclamation that would have great impact.
Pray that the Governors family is safe and in good health.
Pray that a spirit of unity would come over the house, senate and governor’s office where the residents of Michigan would benefit.
