“Hope” is commonly used to mean a wish. Its strength is the strength of the person’s desire. But in the Bible hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness. Faith is confidence or trust in God or a belief not based on proof and Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation or desire. Hope speaks of the future and faith speaks for the now in life. We must keep our eyes on the future on who the Lord is and what He will accomplish. Our faith is the substance of things for…even though not initially seen.

In the times we are in, especially in the next two months, we must focus on the Cross and the promises of God. When hope is lost it creates a disparaging dilemma within one’s heart and soul. The Lord is our foundation, and this is the ultimate advantage that we carry in challenging times. Can you see the harvest field that is before us? An opportunity to win souls for the kingdom is so prevalent because many have lost their hope. Take our young people for example, we must encourage them and point them to Jesus Christ!

What are you hoping for today? Think about your family, your sphere of influence, the state you reside in, and our nation. May you declare with your voice what you are hoping for all of the above and activate that measure of faith (Romans 12:3) so it will come to pass. We each are bearers of the light that dispels the darkness (John 1:5). As you awake each day realize you are the voice of hope that can set the captives free.

“Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” (Psalm 31:24)
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12)
