Tonight’s Call – COREY SHANKLETON…RESTORATION OF A YOUNGER GENERATION PT 2!

There is a “Spirit of the Age” permeating over our culture. It is a spirit that only God’s Word can prevail over. The spirit of the age can be referred to the spirit of the times. It is a set of ideas, beliefs, and aims and is typical of people in a particular period in history. Certain attitudes and values overtake society. The prevailing spirit can either be that influence by biblical standards or by atheistic secularism, or something in between. We know that, through the fall and the entrance of sin, something deeper lies behind us. This world in its organized rebellion against God and his default to sin, has a “god” who hold sway over people. Therefore, the spirit of the age can be a devil inspired outlook, a world away from what the Holy Spirit inspired scriptures would produce.

The current liberal values, absence of moral absolutes, political correctness, false belief systems are all part of this. Such is the rejection of Biblical norms in modern Western society, that the spirit of the age is a strong current against Christianity. It is also defensive. Dear speak against it and we are looked on as extremist, intolerant, and almost guilty of hate crimes. Today much of vaulted tolerance turns remarkably intolerant when we speak up for God’s word and his righteousness.

The two most ruinous decades in recent history are the 1960s and 70s. During that time Western countries underwent a social revolution that changed beyond recognition. Before the 1960s Western culture had a semblance of Biblical heritage who is values were accepted. However, in 1960s challenges and all but swept away. This cultural change was accelerated by music, arts and entertainment, media, increasing rebellion of teenagers, the government of the day, and the church beginning to compromise Biblical truths.

“Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” (2 Corinthians 4:4}

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful, who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 28-32)

RELEASE THE SWORD OF VICTORY (Agnes Ebedi)…there is a massive battle going on in the spirit right now, and the roar of the Church will release the sword of victory! I heard a minister say recently, “When your destiny is being decided, do not keep your mouth shut.” Esther 4:14 states, “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows if you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” As we release the roar of the Word of the Lord, we shall see a shift take place in our lives. Proverbs 18:21 declares: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” As we engage the weapon of the sword of the Spirit, as we release our roar, it shall usher in the restoration of everything the enemy has stolen from our lives! It shall invade and bring down demonic systems and structures of corruption in our cities and nations. It shall give birth to revival in our churches and homes, in Jesus’ name!

If we are wanting to see godly leaders raised up in our cities and nations, we can declare Proverbs 29:2: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice…” and we can begin to ROAR out of that Word and say, “Father, we declare that righteous governance is established in our land, in Jesus’ name!” The roar is our divinely inspired declaration of the WORD OF GOD. I declare that as we roar, we shall see the impossible situations OVERTURNED, in Jesus’ name! As we continue to move into 2023, do not keep silent! Release your roar! Declare the Word of the Lord. Roar and see promises that have died prematurely SUDDENLY released. Roar and break every resistance that stands against your immediate “catapult” into breakthrough. Roar and see righteousness established in systems of government. Roar and express your expectation of what must take place in your life in 2023!

NAMES OF GOD SERIES – CHRISTOPHER HUDSON…NER…GOD A LAMP!

People who lived through the advent of electricity took great care of their lamps. A lamp was a prize possession. It made life easier– and safer. With a lamp you could check on your children and your animals at night. With a lamp you were able to get necessary tasks done efficiently and keep bad guys or wild beasts at bay. Spiritually speaking, God is our lamp (NER) , He lights up our path in life. When we keep Him near, He keeps us from (figuratively) stubbing our toes, tripping, or accidentally walking off a cliff. With God as our lamp, we have the light we need to do the work He has called us to do. What’s more, remaining in God’s light scares away the enemy too. Our dark impulses and temptations flee like roaches, rats, and varmints.

Now imagine one last image. If God is my lamp and yours– and his and hers and theirs– what happens when the people of God come together? The light intensifies, the glow spreads. Some– not all– will be attracted. Many who are living in darkness will see that light and say, “Wow, that looks beautiful. It looks safe. I want to be there.” Let God be a lamp and let your light shine into darkness.

QUESTION: How can you use the light God has given you to serve Him?

“You, Lord, are my lamp, the Lord turns my darkness into light.” (2 Samuel 22:29)
