Tonight’s Call – SPIRITUAL MAPPING! Cindy Williams Moore
Why do we need maps? They help us to get to our destination. Years ago, paper held maps were widely used. Remember, how Triple AAA provided Tripsticks for the journey showing every detail on the way as you flipped the pages. How things have changed. In this modern day we have GPS systems to take us to the place where we desire to be. One thing has not changed though and that is the guidance of the Holy Spirit in individuals lives in the journey of life. The comforter was sent to teach, lead, and guide us. Learning to hear the voice of the Lord in this present day is vital. We must be led by the Spirit of God into the assignments He has called us to. God directs our steps by acknowledging Him in prayer and praying for Him to help guide us. He directs our paths through the Bible. The Word of God is designed to speak to us and give us direction. We must invite God to steer us in the right direction, to lay a clear path before Him.
We must be wise and shun evil. Fools can be quick-tempered, hotheaded, and reckless in decisions that are made. A wise individual fears the Lord. God will lead us one step at a time and in this process, challenges will be faced which are allowed to mature us. Any setback must always be looked at as an opportunity to mature as a disciple of Christ. God’s Word promises that crooked places will be made straight and rough ways smooth (Luke 3 4-6).
We all have a call to advance the Kingdom of God. In the areas we have been called to occupy their evil forces or demonic strongholds that are attempting to stop any advancement. A term is used at times called spiritual mapping. It can be called a technique to try to identify where demons are at work and then attack them in the authority we carry as believers in Jesus Christ. The Word in Ephesians 6: 10-16 indicates there are principalities over regions or what we may call high places. Spiritual mapping many times identifies three levels of spiritual warfare. There is a ground-level which involves casting out demons out of individuals. There is occult level warfare, which tackles more organized spiritual wickedness. Finally there is strategic level warfare which directly battles what is called territorial spirits over a broader geographical area. These spirits are thought to answer directly to Satan and are responsible for coordinating all demonic activities within spheres. These territorial spirits can be called a “strongman” of an area. Instruction is needed on how to bind the strongman.
When engaging in this type of activity we must clearly hear from the Lord and be given direction, so we are properly equipped. The whole armor of God must be in place; must be led by the Holy Spirit; always walking in repentance and the love of God; be faith filled and trusting in the directives of the Word; and being a matured disciple of Christ.
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24)

I receive fresh fire from Heaven so that I can complete my assignments and fulfill my destiny, in the name of Jesus Christ.”

NAMES OF GOD CHRISTOPHER HUDSON..METZUDAH – FORTRESS!
The Hebrew word for fortress refers to an impregnable stronghold, usually high up on a mountain. David, of all people, was familiar with such places. As a shepherd boy, he often had to seek out safe refuges for his flock. Later, as a young man, he fought in the Israelite army and also spent years fleeing from Saul. Whether protecting his sheep, facing an enemy in battle, or trying to elude a paranoid, murderous king, David knew the importance of finding and hunkering down in elevated Bastian’s and Rocky citadels. However, he also knew that even the best earthly fortresses aren’t 100% secure. Once while hiding from Saul in the recesses of a remote wilderness, David was caught completely off guard when Saul suddenly entered the same cave to relieve himself. Ultimately, David had to get to the place where he trusted God to be his ultimate protection. Because God is higher than any tower and more invincible than any Rocky stronghold, He is where we will find true safety and security. Even when David was outnumbered and outgunned, he believed that as long as God was for him, no man can harm him. In God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalm 56:4).
What are the specific things that threaten you now? What problems make you want to run away? Instead of seeking refuge and things of this world that don’t offer lasting protection, such as your job or money or relationships or sex or food or amusement, run to God, your fortress, and hide in Him. Having to hole up in a fortress isn’t always comfortable. In fact, it is confining. But it’s also temporary. Why? Because, as David exclaims, God is not only a fortress, He’s also a deliverer! When people, events, or circumstances are coming against you, God is the fortress that will shield you from the harshest assaults.
QUESTION: How in your life, specifically, have you experienced God as a fortress?
“He said: The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.” (2 Samuel 22:2)
