Tonight’s Call – THE CHURCH IN 2024 – 2030!
FROM MY WIFE BARBARA WARZYWAK: So thankful for the mercies of our Lord as we ended 2023. As many of you may already know Rick suffered a massive stroke on Friday afternoon, Dec. 29. He has recovered MIRACULOUSLY! The testimony of the timing and things that fell into place to expedite his treatment are amazing. Not to mention the prayers for healing from thousands of people all over the USA and the world. I will have to write down the testimony sometime but in a nutshell: an off-duty EMT “happened” to be driving by as Rick collapsed outside the credit union; he rendered immediate medical assistance to Rick, and an ambulance was dispatched from a 1/2 mile down the road.
After being airlifted from Gaylord to Traverse City, a second hospital, Rick was treated by a renowned MD, a specialist in neurosurgery. I am so thankful for the very honest man who was walking along the highway and found Rick’s phone and other items and called me immediately to return everything. My kids who were recovering from seasonal flu rallied to be by my side at the hospital. When surgery staff wheeled Rick by on the gurney into ICU and our joy at seeing he responded to our voices — we were so encouraged.
Previously when I had seen Rick’s condition at the first hospital before he was airlifted my heart was so heavy as it was not looking good. The long, dark road I drove between the hospitals was a time of intercession for me as I knew life may never be the same unless the Lord intervened. When I saw Rick again after the procedure was done and recovering in ICU and he was ‘normal’ it was truly miraculous — like the night and day difference in his condition.
My kids and I just kept looking at each other marveling as we couldn’t believe he was talking, joking with the staff and us (Dad jokes – yikes ) moving his arms & legs, passing all the verbal ‘tests’ the nurse was asking him to say. So, if I can say anything to you in the new year of 2024, always keep your loved ones close, don’t major in minors but consider what is truly important. When a crisis comes you would be surprised to realize what matters most isn’t your job, or day-to-day or all those cares of the world, but it is your loved ones. Things can change in the blink of an eye. Speak Life and draw near to the Lord.
FROM MY SON MATT: Pops, I was lying in bed praying and reflecting. I just wanted to share this with you: fear is a battle as it always tries to manipulate no matter an outcome. Fear is the devil’s main tool to come against faith! Be weary not to entertain it! I have always admired your faith and positivity! Bring me back to your dad saying it’s just a hunk of metal when you wrecked the car. You always had a way to bring the bright side to a situation. Now in the season to come stay true to knowing God has you as a son in his hands and he wouldn’t keep you here if he didn’t want you to live a life beyond your dreams. Don’t let the enemy hang you up with fear of the unknown regarding future health but drive forward in your purpose and calling. Sure physical modifications need to be made but your spirit is brighter than it’s ever been and your driving force! Perfect love casts out fear! What is perfect love? 1 Corinthians 13. When you feel fear become love. God is love and the devil is fear. I love you very much pops and can’t wait for what the future holds. Don’t be discouraged with people trying to manage you as for a season it will not be easy but the people in your life sometimes act out of fear of loss, it will be a delicate season but you will be up and doing everything you did before in no time. Your spirit and vigor are strong pops and actually made me proud that you are truly a tough man! I don’t know if I could have been the same but you have much left to do! Seek it out and find it! Can’t wait to see what God has waiting for you.
FROM RICK: I am so thankful for my family and how so many rallied in prayer. I appreciate my teams who are taking over the calls for a short time. Everything was timing. I am fully recovered with no stroke effects. I have to rest a few weeks but that is OK. My book will be delayed a bit, but it will come out soon. Never take life for granted! Be faithful and run the race until the end. WE are all one heartbeat from eternity!!!
