Tonight’s Call – PURIM…OVER-RIDING EVIL EDICTS!
MEANING OF PURIM – BEGINS MARCH 23
Purim is easily one of the most iconic Jewish holidays, especially in Israel. While not the most important of holidays, it is certainly one of the most beloved. With a history steeped in celebration and colorful expression, Purim has developed a unique identity among the long roster of Jewish religious festivals. However, Purim also has a very famous story behind it, with the legendary tale of Queen Esther in the Persian empire, thwarting the attempted genocide of the Jews plotted by the villainous Haman.
In the years after the destruction of the First Temple, the Jewish people were sent into exile. Many would wind up living in the city of Shushan, the capital of the Persian Empire, ruled by King Ahasuerus. After the king executes his disobedient wife, Vashti, he attempts to find a new one. A Jewish woman using the alias of Esther, the relative of a well-known Jew named Mordechai, is eventually chosen to become the new queen. Meanwhile, the king’s viceroy, the villainous Haman, plots to kill all the Jews after he is furious at Mordechai for not bowing before him. He manipulates Ahasuerus to get permission to do so, choosing a date in the month of Adar for the planned genocide.
Mordechai finds out about this and pleads with Esther to intervene, though she fears being executed for breaking royal protocol by going to him without being summoned. After all the Jews fast for three days, she goes before Ahasuerus, who doesn’t execute her, and invites both him and Haman to attend two feasts. During this time, Haman builds gallows to hang Mordechai, while a humiliated Haman parades Mordechai through the city to reward him for thwarting an assassination attempt on the king. At the second feast, the king promises to grant Esther any wish, and she reveals that she is Jewish and Haman is planning to kill her and her people. This thwarts Haman’s plot, and he is hung on his own gallows. The royal decree of genocide Haman made is now amended, allowing the Jews to fight back and slay their would-be killers, with tens of thousands ultimately slaughtered. Ahasuerus continues his reign, Mordechai becomes a high-ranking official, and the Jews throughout the empire create an annual celebration.
POINT TO PONDER: Can we as a unified church with power and authority given to us as priests and kings turn back the evil edicts our present government has decreed over Christians today! The answer is YES!!!

Women, on 4/13 go with your families to your state capitols to hold Communion and prepare to be a voice that transcends the natural realm, declaring “Don’t mess with our kids!”

IT SHOOTS FROM THE EYE:
FOSSIL RECORD: We are repeatedly told the dinosaurs died out around 60 million years ago. Yet there have been many reports of dinosaur bones which have been dated quite young. Carmen-14 analysis of dinosaur bones reveals that they can contain measurable amounts of Carbon 14. This is impossible if the bones are over 60 million years old but makes perfect sense from a biblical perspective. The Carbon-14 concentration for organisms alive before Noah’s flood would have been greatly reduced compared to modern levels, but Carbon-14 should still be present in small amounts. This is exactly what we find and does not indicate a great age but a recent burial by a worldwide flood.
According to the March 1992 AB newsletter, Hugh Miller of Columbus, Ohio had four dinosaur bone samples Carbon 14 dated at a university laboratory. Each of the bones were dated at an age of under 20,000 years. These bones were not identified as dinosaur bones because the labs would not agree to test bones which their evolutionary presumptions tell them could not contain any Carbon 14. Yet the same level of Carbon 14 found in the bones of the more recent creature would be assumed to be correct.
In an even more amazing discovery, both DNA fragments and fossilized red blood cells have been found within dinosaur bones. Neither of these fragile organic molecules could exist after millions of years. Yet it is quite reasonable to expect to find such fragments to remain if they were buried during Noah’s flood-less than 5000 years ago. Recent data dinosaur bones should be no surprise to Christians. In Genesis 1:21 God says He created great whales. Elsewhere this Hebrew word, tannin, is translated Dragon. The book of Job chapters 40 and 41 describe powerful creatures which can only be dinosaurs.
