DAY 1671 JUNE 2 – SHAVUOT AND PENTECOST!

This weekend on the Hebrew calendar, Jews around the world are celebrating “Shavuot” which marks the ending of the season of counting the omer. This special occasion also marks the heralding of Pentecost Sunday, which will follow on June 8 – 9.

After breaking camp at Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and set up camp there at the base of Mount Sinai.Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “Give these instructions to the family of Jacob; announce it to the descendants of Israel: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians.
You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’
This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.” So Moses returned from the mountain and called together the elders of the people and told them everything the Lord had commanded him. And all the people responded together, “We will do everything the Lord has commanded.” So Moses brought the people’s answer back to the Lord. Exodus 19:2-8 NLT
Now we come to the end of the counting of the Omer—the 49-day period of gathering in the grain harvest and the culmination being the Feast of Shavuot. This is also called the Feast of the First Fruits, (Bikkurim). This daily counting begins the day after the first day of Pesach (Passover) with the wave offering of the barley. What an extraordinary time and command from the LORD as written in Leviticus 23:10-17!
As the Christian world remembers Pentecost as written in Acts 2, we in Israel look to Mount Sinai and all that pivotal moment in history did for mankind at large. So, what is Mount Sinai and the giving of the Law mean to us? Do we realize that at that covenantal moment, God Himself descended in a cloud, spoke, and even engraved the 10 commandments in stone? Exodus 19:1-18 tells the drama. The Eternal God calls to Himself a people (Exodus 19:5-6) and they respond, “We will do everything the LORD has commanded.” A covenant was consecrated, and if you like, God “married” the nation we know as Israel today. From that first Shavuot and the marriage ceremony until today, God’s name was given to a large family of slaves who were rescued from Egypt by His strong Arm. All glory be to our God!
It was there at Sinai that God separated His people to carry His Law, His commandments, and to be His chosen people. No matter where the Jews have been since, it is clear they are separate and they are carrying the name of the Eternal God, the God of Israel. This is what makes all the difference—do we accept God’s election? Do we wince at His Sovereign Ways? Yes, I think mankind struggles with this election, including most Jews!
Because of God’s promises to bring us into His Land, a land flowing with milk and honey, we often fill this holiday with dairy treats and many cheesecakes! It’s a beautiful finish to our spring with fruits and sweets to celebrate that we are the people from the marriage at Sinai. Sinai has changed the world forever. Have we kept our promise to obey? No! Has He kept His promise to be our God and King? Yes! Without salvation for our sins, wrought by the Lord and His resurrection, we have no way to succeed. Here is our dilemma.
So, as we finish off this season of counting and then the giving of our divine calling, we are, for the most part, still in darkness about what has been given and what was also sent to His early disciples in the form of the Holy Spirit. We remain His and bound eternally to God, but only in Yeshua can we have the fullness of what grace and mercy we have received.
Happy Shavuot and Happy Pentecost—it is by His grace we stand. Greetings from His indivisible, chosen resting place, Jerusalem.

We will produce approximately a 50 – 55 page, four-color, high-gloss, 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 booklet that can be used by churches, university campuses, and individuals to promote the pro-life cause. Presently, Michigan is a death state. We can turn this around and turn Michigan into a pro-life state where it can be called pure again. The killing of the unborn is foundational to all of our state and national problems. We need to provide knowledgeable tools to be utilized to promote the life message. We will do an initial printing of 10,000 copies. We will not charge for them but give them out freely to churches, ministries, young people, and individuals across our state. We want to impact our young people especially, youth leaders in High School and universities. Of course, the body of Christ must take the lead in churches. Congregations must be activated to share with their sphere of influence. We declare it is a new day in the Pro-Life movement in Michigan! Who will rise up and defend the unborn?
