Yesterday’s newsletter addressed courage. Today’s focus scripture is a relevant and needed word for today. Encourage comes from the old French word encoragier, meaning make strong, hearten. It also means to inspire with confidence and hope.

Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”. Our words have the ability to discourage or encourage. Our words have the ability to weaken or strengthen. Our words have the ability to create discord or to create peace. Our words have the ability to bring death or life. That’s a lot of responsibility on these tongues of ours!

The world needs you – an encourager – to speak up, to bring hope, to bring encouragement, to bring truth, and to bring joy. Speak a kind word, pay a compliment, share your hope in the Lord; you just might make someone’s day! And most of all – ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD!
