We have been walking through a season of darkness where light is becoming brighter. Our faith must rise to a new level. Prophetic voices had already assured us of the outcome. Now is the time to hold onto and increase our faith. Yesterday, we spoke about David and Goliath. David had incredible faith as he looked at the giant Goliath. His size, stature, and threats did not matter. The time he spent taking care of the sheep out in the wilderness was a time he communed with God. It prepared him to face the giant. We have been stressing we must be in God’s command center of this presence.
What about Samson in the Bible? These biblical stories are given to us as parallels in history where we glean from them important biblical truths where we can presently apply them in our own lives. The enemy of our souls tries to neuter our effectiveness by his accusations of past sins, failures, and even discouraging us in a present circumstance we are living through. Yes, Samson fell, and both of his eyes were plucked and he had no physical sight. Some of us are having difficulty seeing the victory that is ahead. God wants to strengthen us in our weakness as he strengthened Samson. God is building a new church who carry great power and authority. We must be thankful for this season of challenges, difficulties, chastisement of the Lord, feelings of inadequacy, loss of hope and at times being discouraged. It is preparation time! How did Samson feel knowing the power that he had when he fell to Delilah’s temptations was now gone?
But Samson drew upon a mustard seed of faith that was in his heart and he appealed to God that what he had would be restored. God was faithful and Samson was used to bring vengeance upon the Philistines. No matter what you’re going through it is time to continue to be in God’s command center of this presence and draw the strength that is needed for you to fulfill your calling and destiny. Do not be discouraged or dismayed because God is with us!
“Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, ‘O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!'” (Judges 16:28)
“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10)
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10)
