Tonights Call Rick Warzywak…Bringing Every Thought into Captivity!

Yesterday, we shared how we have been called to be God’s House! After you become born again, God is anxious to build an everlasting spiritual house within you. You are “God’s House” and “His Temple.” God will allow you to work together with Him so your spiritual house will be eternal, and you can face any challenges that come your way. Within this spiritual house, God will cast vision and destiny so you will have the opportunity to live your life fulfilling the purpose of God’s kingdom that you have been called to. God chooses to do this through His Spirit and Word. The enemy of our souls is constantly attempting to destroy our spiritual house. How does he do it? This house wrecker does it through entrapment in “Thought Cycles”. where we can become trapped.

PHYSIOLOGICALLY SPEAKING: When you think, you build thoughts, and these literally become physical substances in your brain. Realize, Neuron’s release brain chemicals, known as neurotransmitters, which generate these electrical signals in neighboring neurons. The electrical signals propagate like a wave to thousands of neurons, which leads to thought formation.

If we desire to live a fruitful, healthy, productive life we must gain a Biblical understanding regarding the impact thoughts have upon us. We must continue to discuss how each of us has experienced destructive “Thought Cycles”. Whatever you think on with your mind will result in a belief system within your heart. Whatever you believe in your heart you will confess or speak with your mouth. Your actions (body) will soon follow as you live out what is in your heart. Your nature and character will be formed, and your destiny determined. It all begins with what we think on. So we must learn how to negate negative “Thought Cycles”. These cycles can lead to EMOTIONS that literally can destroy our spiritual house. The illustration below is something we can relate to. Have you ever seen a jack-knifed Semi Truck? What caused it? The heavy load in the trailer shifted when the driver in the cab made a wrong driving decision. Again, what we allow ourselves to think about can bring positive or negative EMOTIONS. They are powerful influencers so our thought life must be reined in. We must learn how to bring every thought into the captivity of Christ, so our spiritual house grows in such a way to advance the Kingdom of God.

“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” (Mark 7: 20-23)

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
