The Body of Christ must “DISCERN” the times. We must be able to see and understand people, things, or situations, world events, geo-physical events and the words of the prophets. We must ask the Lord to see and hear clearly and intelligently. We must also study our history and be discerning critics. What is “DISCERNMENT”?

DISCERNMENT: The fundamental definition for Christian discernment is a decision-making process in which an individual makes a discovery that can lead to future action. In the process of Christian spiritual discernment God guides the individual to help them arrive at the best decision.

How does one practice discernment? We must take on a personal responsibility and practice entering conversation with God about the little things in your life. Practice learning to listen – He may not speak to you like he speaks to others. Don’t expect to necessarily be able to hear immediately if you’ve never listened before. Never give up as you are still yourself the Holy Spirit will speak to you.

EXAMPLES OF DISCERNMENT: 1 Kings 22:19–23 and 2 Chronicles 18:18–22: Micaiah discerns that a lying spirit is responsible for false prophecy. Jeremiah 23:16-22: Jeremiah perceives that the false prophets’ message is not from God. Acts 5:3: Peter is aware of the deception of Ananias and Sapphira

The key for obtaining a spirit of discernment in our lives is waiting on God. This is so difficult in the environment of STATIC we live in with many voices wanting attention! The season of time we are in is grasping for our attention. We must learn to shut down outside influences so we can hear the voice of the Lord. Every decision we make must be guided by the Lord. We are in a walking and talking minefield. So pray for DISCERNMENT! The Lord wants to work through you to shift history!

“To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” (1 Corinthians 12:10)

“Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures.

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 3: 3-5)

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,” (Philippians 1: 9-10)
