TONIGHT’S CALL – INTERVIEW WITH PERSECUTED CANADIAN PASTOR ARTUR PAWLOWSKI!

Whenever you engage in fighting for a cause the result will be some form of persecution. Many today in various gateways of society are taking on a cause whether it’s in the realm of election fraud; vaccines; mandates; personal freedom restrictions; and attacks on our religious freedom. Throughout history, remnants have risen to oppose tyranny against Christians. There will always be a price to pay for people who lead the way in fighting for admirable causes. What is persecution?

PERSECUTION: It is hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of race or political or religious beliefs; to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict specifically to cause to suffer because of belief.

The purpose of persecution is to enforce religious conformity, restrict dissent and provide the government with legitimacy to eliminate our freedoms. Christian persecution refers to persistently cruel treatment, often due to religion or belief. Jesus told Christians to spread the word of Christianity and acknowledged that this may put them in danger. Persecution is painful emotionally, psychologically, and in some instances, even physically. That is why the scripture specifically declares a blessing for those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.

As we experience persecution, we are called to be salt and light to our opposition. To ‘be salt’ means to deliberately seek to influence the people in one’s life by showing them the unconditional love of Christ through good deeds. Light is a symbol used to mean awareness, knowledge, and understanding. Is it difficult to be salt and light while being persecuted? Yes! It is far harder to “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”, when undergoing personal attacks. Jesus raised a standard and wants his followers to aim for it. He was our example. God wants us, His people, to forgive those who hurt us. We see in the Word how many people ridiculed and hurt Jesus, but He forgave them.

Many of us have suffered some forms of persecution because of our Christian faith. Consider it a badge of honor as heaven is watching. Never shrink back in living for the cause of Christ as winning souls into the kingdom must be a goal we carry. Whenever you are persecuted, stamp eternity on your eyeballs and realize we are just foreigners passing through a strange land. Any suffering you may encounter is temporary. and a blessing.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5: 10 – 12)

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,” (Matthew 5:44)
