Tonight’s Call – COREY SHANKLETON…GOD PERSPECTIVES!!!
Hearing the small still voice of God has become critical in navigating the challenging times we are encountering. Some may ask will God speak to me. Yes … God speaks directly to humans. Over 2,000 times in the Old Testament there are phrases such as, “And God spoke to Moses” or “the Word of the Lord came to Jonah” or “God said.” This can happen through prayer, contemplation and/or time in the Bible. We begin to discern God’s voice over the noise of our world as we give time to these disciplines. We have all at some time encountered radio static when trying to tune into a radio station. There are many voices speaking at this time, and we must pray for discernment to be able to hear the right one. The Holy Spirit desires to speak to us. We begin to hear God by way of the Holy Spirit through those around us, circumstances and even our conscience.
What does it mean to hear the voice of God? Sometimes it’s a sense of peace or joy that covers your body in a moment of chaos.Sometimes it’s wisdom in a situation. And sometimes God speaks to you for what you’re going through, sometimes He speaks to you for someone else, sometimes He just shares things that He wants you to pray about.
What is some ways God speaks to us?
- *Through His still, small voice inside our hearts: This small still voice can leave impressions in our mind at any time.
- *Through the Rhema word of God: As we read or hear the Word of God so many times we can get hit with a lightning bolt of Revelation.
- *Through a sense of peace: Whenever a challenge is before us or a stressful situation a calming sensation takes over.
- *Through open and closed doors: There are times where we feel like taking some sort of action and every avenue shuts down before us.
- *Through other people: Never underestimate the importance of God sending someone into your path to speak to you.
- TIPS ON HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD
- Position yourself close to God. Samuel set his bed up in the temple, “where the Ark of God was”.
- Find a place of regular service to God….the Secret Place
- Listen for God’s voice and be silent.
- When God calls, respond eagerly with thankfulness.
- When God speaks, obey Him.
- Read and study the Word of God.
- “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” (Psalm 34:15)
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us? Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)

Thank You for all that you have done, and are doing. My husband and I feel so blessed to be a part of this call and we have learned a lot. We are on almost every night. It’s kind of funny that we know you just by your voices . We love all of you and pray for you often.
