Tonight’s Call – CASTING VISION FOR THE NEW YEAR!

Freedom is always one generation from being lost. We must position ourselves to put dictators in check at the state, national and international levels. We must increase our VISION to increase our prayer and action movement. The word “vision” used here has to do with the Word of God. Where there is no Word of God, where there is no message of life, the people perish, is the primary interpretation of this passage in Proverbs 29:18. All of our plans must be based on authority and confirmation of God’s Word.

Without the Word of God, people are “loose”; that is, they go their own way. They live without restraint. Ultimately, living in such a way will lead to death because to ignore God’s way is to ignore the way of life. We are receiving revelation today on how to proceed to meet the evil upon our land. Any successful endeavor requires a vision. The word vision means the ability to see things that are invisible.” in other words seeing things through God’s Eyes. We must have an encounter with God where He imparts special revelation.

Helen Keller was asked “What would be worse than being born blind?” She replied, “The only thing worse than being blind is to have sight without vision.” So, we need the Lord’s guidance as we lay down our plans for 2023. We must have the ability to think about or plan the future being led with God’s wisdom.

NOTE: We must have God’s vision instilled into our lives so we can carry out our calling and destiny. We must not allow “man centered” vision to replace what God has called us to do to impact our sphere of influence. Man centered vision will revert to selfishness.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish; But happy is he who keeps the law. (Proverbs 29:18)

“I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2: 1-3)

In Biblical times, a banner was a flag or ensign attached to a pole that indicated the authority, allegiance, and identity of a nation. People who are under a banner belong together. They shared identity and the values that the banner represented. In a sense, they belong to the banner. For armies, a banner served as a rallying point in the rallying cry. The banner over soldiers marched and distinguished them. It told onlookers with the troops represented, what they stood for, and who they were fighting for. The banner called all like-minded warriors to gather literally beneath it. And then had called them to march together into battle together in pursuit of the banner’s glory and ideals.

Tribes and families had banners too. As the 2 to 3 million Israelites traveled from Egypt through the desert to the promised land, one could see banners there among the masses. These markers help distinguish the various groups. In short, a banner was an outward and visible sign of a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bond between people. By claiming the Lord is their banner, Moses was telling the people of Israel, “Yahweh is our identity”. We belong to Him. We believe what He believes. We are under His authority. His priorities are our priorities. We will follow Him. We will fight for Him. And we will love all others who are under His banner.

Likewise, we invoke the Lord as our banner, we pledge our allegiance to Him.

We are saying we belong to Him alone and that His purposes are our purposes. We restrict to the ownership and the leadership of God the father. We do this because one cannot be under more than one banner. We are either faithful to God or we are not faithful. There is no partial allegiance.

QUESTION: If someone who understood this ancient practice of banners watched her life closely for a month, what banner would they put over your life and why?

“Moses built an altar and called it the Lord my Banner”. (Exodus 17:15)

MICHOP LEGISLATIVE PRAYER TEAM …VISION CASTING 2023

1. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 instructs the church to pray for our leaders who are in rule over us. This Prayer Team vision will be to mobilize intercessors who will cover each one of the Michigan elected officials in Lansing Executive, congressional, house, senate, judicial elected officials, 175 appointed individuals.

2. Each person who chooses to take on this assignment to become a personal intercessor for the elective official must live in the representative’s district.

3. The Prayer Team goal is to build a relationship and rapport with their assigned elected officials. This will take place by personally meeting with their legislator either in their county or in Lansing; receiving the names of the family such as their mate, children, and staff members to pray for them by name.

4. These MICHOP Watchmen/Intercessors will commit to supporting our leaders by praying for Godly wisdom and direction in their daily lives and decision for our state

5. Our goal is to see the atmosphere of oppression and darkness lifted in Lansing as we faithfully blanket our governmental leaders with prayer.
