Tonight’s Call – RICK WARZYWAK…THE NATURE OF BETRAYAL!

Betrayal is always something very difficult to handle. Throughout the Bible, we see it manifest so many times. It is something that can charge one’s emotions to a point where you make wrongful reactionary decisions. Betrayal can be exposed by examining closely the motive and intents of the heart. A question must be asked, why are you doing what you are doing? Are you doing this to serve God and others or yourself? All selfish motives must be examined. In any betrayal situation all parties must examine their hearts.

BETRAYAL: It is someone or something or the fact of being betrayed. It is a violation of a person’s trust or confidence, of a moral standard. It also entails being delivered up or handed over to some other entity.

What makes a person betray? There are several things. He can have excessive ambition, greed, lust, or passion. When a person cannot control is overcome with these vices, he/she is liable to betray. A drug addict will betray the trust placed on him because his addiction is overpowering. It is greater than any sense of loyalty, integrity, or honesty he/she may have. Betrayal also encompasses to mislead or deceive. It has to do with destroying someone’s trust, possibly by lying. Betrayal is when someone you trust breaks that trust by doing something that hurts you. This can take many forms, such as a soldier working with the enemy, one family member stealing from another, or a friend spreading rumors about another friend.

Betrayal is also defined as the sense of being harmed by the omission of intentional actions of an individual who is viewed as a trusted person. This could be a partner, relative, or even a colleague. Betrayal can result in a myriad of emotions ranging from anger and rage, through to denial and avoidance. Betrayal is so devastating because trust is lost in that person(s). Entrusting another person, who we believe won’t hurt us, when they do hurt us, we then have the awareness that this other person has the capacity to hurt and cause a great schism. A searing of the conscience and self-justification takes place in every situation of betrayal. Therefore, we have lost something very important to the relationship. A person who betrays can be called a traitor.

NOTE: Another aspect that comes into play is what we call a Jezebel spirit. This spirit inflicts many in such a subtle fashion that people do not even know they are being influenced by it. We see this happen often in the governmental Mountain where political seductions take place by the spirit.

JEZEBEL: A spirit that can inhabit any individual but mainly females. It is an immoral woman who deceives people to get what she wants. They would exhibit an impudent, shameless, or morally unrestrained attitude. When the spirit inhabits one an outward appearance is presented with makes them feel not guilty of anything. Control and power are the end goal of this individual. Manipulation behind the scenes is used by the spirit to obtain its goals. Jezebel appears in the New Testament encouraging sermons to fornicate and eat the animals that have been sacrificed to the gods. She has come down through the ages as the primary symbol of wanton shameless womanhood. According to the Bible she provoked conflict that weakened Israel for decades by interfering with the exclusive worship of the Hebrew God Yahweh, disregarding the rights of the common man, and defined the great prophets of Elijah and Elisha.

CAN A BETRAYAL BE GOOD? – Can betrayals be allowed to happen so a greater purpose can be achieved. YES!! Every betrayal usually involves a demotion of some sort. Is any demotion a pathway or a door to promotion. We are in a time where there is a shift with new realignments that carry an anointing. God may set the stage to separate wheat from the tares especially in this day we are facing in these challenging times.

“Woe to you who plunder, though you have not been plundered; and you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you! When you cease plundering,

You will be plundered; when you make an end of dealing treacherously, they will deal treacherously with you.” (Isaiah 33:1)

“Nevertheless, I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess to teach and seduce my servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols” (Revelation 2:20)

“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall not escape” (Proverbs 19:5)

“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.” (Matthew 24:10)

You don’t need a degree from West Point to know the fiercest, best trained soldiers are useless if they’re not protected. Defenseless troops quickly become casualties of war. This has always been true. In Bible times, while the sword was valuable, a spear helpful, and they slingshot deadly, a soldier shield was his most important weapon. Shortly after God called Abraham, He promised to be Jehovah Magen to him, saying “Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield, you’re very great reward” (Genesis 15:1). As the father of God’s chosen nation in name and promise only for many years, Abraham did not have the luxury of numbers. He did not live in a city of 10,000 people. No one surrounded his encampment. No fortresses kept him safe at night. His only guarantee of safety was the God who promised to be his shield. And was always enough.

Throughout history, God has made it clear that He acts as a shield for His people. While we tend to focus primarily on physical safety, God wants to shield us in other ways too: relationally, emotionally, occupationally, financially, and more. He seeks to protect us not just from thieves, thugs, and physical dangers, but from spiritual forces we cannot see. God is our shield is a mighty idea, one that becomes even more precious when we couple it with God’s other attributes. Because God is unchanging, for example, we know that the shield of protection around Abraham is the same shield that surrounds us. Because God is all-powerful, we know none of the flaming arrows of the evil one (Ephesians 6:16) can penetrate His protection. Because God is ever present, we know the divine shield is always there. Because God is omniscient and all-knowing, He is aware of every danger, and He understands the best ways to protect us.

QUESTION: When have you felt God being a shield for you?

MICHOP LEGISLATIVE PRAYER TEAM …VISION CASTING 2023

1. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 instructs the church to pray for our leaders who are in rule over us. This Prayer Team vision will be to mobilize intercessors who will cover each one of the Michigan elected officials in Lansing Executive, congressional, house, senate, judicial elected officials, 175 appointed individuals.

2. Each person who chooses to take on this assignment to become a personal intercessor for the elective official must live in the representatives district.

3. The Prayer Team goal is to build a relationship and rapport with their assigned elected officials. This will take place by personally meeting with their legislator either in their county or in Lansing; receiving the names of the family such as their mate, children and staff members to pray for them by name.

4. These MICHOP Watchmen/Intercessors will commit to supporting our leaders by praying for Godly wisdom and direction in their daily lives and decision for our state

5. Our goal is to see the atmosphere of oppression and darkness lifted in Lansing as we faithfully blanket our governmental leaders with prayer.
