Tonight’s Call – WE SERVE A GOD OF REDEMPTION!

Our nation needs “REDEMPTION”. Remember how Elijah was sent by the Lord to bring alignment to His covenant land. Jezebel was dethroned. Are we being sent today as we are moving into 2023. A global governmental structure founded by the alliance of Ahab and Jezebel suddenly broke apart. And a nation turned back to God. We are facing a “Global Government” as well. We have been called to join hands with a redeeming God. We must believe and have faith that a comprehensive turnaround is there for the taking. The Lord is inviting us all to engage in as forerunners—until we see the manifestation of a Great Awakening in America. The post Covid church cannot be put into the pre-Covid church wineskin. The Lord has a plan of redemption for our nation. This plan is to defeat God’s enemies and set his children free, to have a good life in this world and spend eternity in Heaven.

REDEMPTION: To be redeemed means to purchase back, to ransom, to liberate or rescue from captivity or bondage, or from any obligation or liability to suffer. Redemption refers supremely to the work of Christ on our behalf, where He purchases us, He ransoms us, at the price of His own life, securing our deliverance from the bondage and condemnation of sin. Redemption is achieved through the atonement; where the death of Jesus paid the price of a ransom, releasing Christians from bondage to sin and death.

Redemption must begin with us on a very personal level if a nation is to be saved. God will redeem any of us from our iniquities, sin, missteps, and afflictions we may be going through. The Bible says to examine ourselves whether we are in a faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Are we truly born again according to John 3:3? Have you confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? This is the beginning where we must start to take part in redeeming a nation.

WHAT ABOUT A NATION?

Can this be applied to a nation if we come together in prayer and action and make sincere appeals to heaven. YES! We are dependent on God for peace, security, and good government, and we must go to Him to petition for righteous leaders, and righteous citizens, so that we might secure the blessings offered to us by our Constitution and His Word (Deuteronomy 28). We see the word Redemption for a nation in 2 Chronicles 7:14. As was said it begins on a personal basis where redemption is the restoration and fulfillment of God’s purposes in creation, and this takes place. in Christ, through whom all things were made and in whom all things are restored or created new. To be redeemed is to live life in the surrender to the Lord. This can be applied corporately to the body of Christ who stands in the gap for our nation. All nations can be blessed through Him if they praise and worship the Lord and glorify His name. We must never forget righteousness is what exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people… Proverbs 14:34.

“If my people were called by my name, humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

The fruit of redemption is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance: against such there is no law. The post Covid church or Ecclesia must shine at this time to those in our sphere of influence. Think of a domino effect where they are lined up in one fall and hit another which causes a chain reaction. We all have been called to cause a chain reaction to those who God has placed in our path. God’s remnant carries the keys of Redemption where we unlock the doors of bondage in people’s lives. We carry the power to restore people and yes, the nation back to the status we had with God before the fall of man in the book of Genesis. Think of the people God has placed around you. Realize you can have an impact in their lives in this time we are facing so many challenges. Your words to somebody can build a bridge of redemption by you speaking out to them. How many times have we been asked to identify your sphere of influence? This is the mission field that you walk into which is part of bringing redemption to a nation. Stay the course and hold the line!

“And for this reason He is the mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:15)

“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace; (Ephesians 1:7)

“In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Colossians 1:14)

The church is full of testimonies of lives turned around. A homeless alcoholic, finds Jesus, gets sober, and eventually opens a homeless shelter. A heroin addict meets Jesus, gets clean, and starts to mentor at-risk teens. A lifelong criminal here is the gospel, stubs breaking the law, and moves to Africa to serve on the mission field. We may not all have such dramatic stories to tell, but if we are followers of Jesus, we can and according to Psalm 107:2, we should each stand up and claim, I have been redeemed! The verb redeem in Hebrew means to purchase or buy back something or someone. When an ancient Hebrew became enslaved, it was customary for the next of kin to play the part of the Redeemer and pay the necessary price to purchase the relatives freedom.

The Bible says our God does that for us. Redeemer is one of His names, He created us to glorify Him. As such, we belong to Him. But because of sin, we are slaves (Romans 6:20). And we would remain in that desperate state if it weren’t for Jesus. On the cross, Jesus brought us out of slavery and set us free. He redeemed us. God redeems people. That’s what He does because that’s who He is. Just as He redeemed the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt, He delivers us– from guilt, from fear of punishment, from the penalty of death, and from our own foolish desires. What would happen if we all walked around mindful of the truth that we were purchased out of slavery? Surely, we would live with a holy excitement, a contagious zeal.

If you feel bogged down, tired, or stressed out, renew your mind with the knowledge that God is your Redeemer. If you know Christ through faith, you have been bought, and Jesus paid the price. You have been redeemed and set free. Choose to walk in that freedom. And then share the good news of your redemption. Heed the words of Psalm 107:2: “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.”

QUESTION: What’s the most powerful example of redemption you have seen?

“I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your redeemer, the Mighty one of Jacob.” (Isaiah 49:26)
