The word restoration is a very positive word. It can be defined as the act of returning something to its former condition. Making something new again. Restoring can also make things better than their current state. The Bible says a lot about this. Our heavenly father’s restoring power is one of the greatest promises from Scripture. As we look at the world around us, the personal lives of many, the decay of our nation, restoration is what we are all striving for. Regarding our personal lives, God came to release us, set us free, and take us out of the difficulties that we are in. As believers, we must help the individuals in our sphere of influence recognize the sin, assume responsibility for sinful actions, repent of the sin, make restitution, when possible, receive gladly the message God is sending through our failures, and thank Him for His loving chastisement. God desires to restore all to health and to heal our wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).

What about the states we reside in and our nation? God’s desire is to use us in that restorative process. The Lord desires to heal our land (2 Chronicles 7: 13-14). This begins with an inner restoration of individuals which is a process of rebuilding those who are weak in their spiritual lives. Then we become the “sent out ones” to go into the mission field of our culture. God uses us to partner with him to restore creation. Restoration is a pathway to bring us to fullness of time.

We are experiencing a great upheaval in the world in the cultural gateways of society. We believe God’s intervention is manifesting and good will happen, after living out the long series of events we have been experiencing these past few years. We believe that heaven will impact earth. We believe earth will move towards a political/spiritual godly government, where Christ permeates all aspects of our lives. We desire God’s presence in every aspect of our lives. We desire His presence in our culture. This is fullness! Again, it begins with us individually where we make room in our hearts for the Holy Spirit; the word of God has to be our focus; and we must never fail to marvel at the power of God. God’s fullness was in Christ. Abiding in Christ will bring us fullness and peace no matter what is taking place around us.

Stay the course and hold the line!

“I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-21)

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8: 31-32)

Nothing in this world is safe from change. Most brands we loved as kids look different today…if they still even still exist. Famous Hamburger chains now offer salads. Cable companies now offer telephone service. We grow taller and then wider. Our hair turns gray or falls out. Our athletic abilities and mental faculties slip away. Those six-pac abs morph into a spare tire. We get wrinkles. Our teeth fall out. Even our most treasured relationships change. Best friends get transferred. Our kids grow up and move away.

The fact remains that everything changes–everything except for God. Only God is unchanging. God does not rebrand. He does not evolve. He does not grow old and fall apart. He does not move away. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And when everything in our lives is so unstable, it gives us great comfort to know that God won’t change. He is the same today as He was at creation. What security that provides!

QUESTION: How does the fact of God’s unchanging nature give you confidence and security in a world that is full of changes?

“I the Lord do not change. So, you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.” (Malachi 3:6)
