Tonight’s Call – DEFINING CHRISTIAN PATRIOTISM!
The Christian patriot movement is a subset within the broader American patriot movement that promotes and emphasizes Christian nationalism as its core goal and philosophy. When the Constitution was written, it was based on Christian principles. The First Amendment to the Constitution states that everyone in the United States has a right to practice his or her own religion, or no religion at all. Based on research on the founders of our nation I believe the intent was to base our form of government on Christian principles. I would even go as far as to say a Biblical Worldview. This certainly has been debated many times. It has been said that America is a secular nation with a distinct separation of church and state.
When we carefully research the letter of Thomas Jefferson to the Dansbury Baptist Church he stated that no one Christian denomination should dominate the American government, but Christian beliefs should be at the forefront of our governmental Mountain. Leftists as well as secularists have attempted to negate this throughout our educational system. We see today how the battle rages on where Christian religious freedom is being assaulted. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6 that people perish for lack of knowledge. Should we not gain a greater understanding of our Christian roots in our nation? YES!
Can one be both a patriot and a Christian or is that a contradiction in terms? What is a patriot? It is defined as love for or devotion to one’s country. Looking at America, we can be ashamed of our country’s policies at home and abroad. We realize our present administration has promoted the evil turn that has been taken regarding life in the womb, homosexuality, the transgender issue, and the attack on religious freedom. Most of us grew up loving America, its ideals, its heritage, and its hope for the world. Never forget we are citizens of this nation. The apostle Paul used his citizenship… didn’t he? We must engage the governmental gateway with the attitude we will obey God rather than man! When any ordinance of God is attacked or abused, we must be that voice to come against it.
So, I believe it’s possible to be a Christian patriot even when one’s country is guided by less than honorable policies. Daniel served the pagan Babylonian and Persian kings of his day until the ordinances of the land clearly violated the teachings of the Lord God. It is disobedience of King Darius’s law to worship the King, where Daniel put himself in danger of incurring the wrath of the king but brought great glory to God. Indeed, after Daniel survived the lion’s den, Darius declared that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and revere the God of Daniel (Daniel 6:26-27). We certainly can be both a Christian and a patriot. As the word says, this world is not our own, but we are strangers in a foreign land. We are adopted sons and daughters of Jesus Christ. So we must not let the definition of the word patriot override what is to be a Christian.
The Christian patriot can love his country with devotion, and respect its authority and rulers, but always with a clear caveat; to King Jesus, the highest ruler, we all owe our first loyalty. Everything is under His authority and control. Our secondary devotion to, and respect for, are men and institutions that must always be in the shadow of God Almighty. We may find ourselves in direct opposition to our government, even to the point of disobedience, when the Holy Spirit convicts us that we must obey God rather than man.
We are Christians first instilling our beliefs in Biblical worldview into the governmental Mountain. It is the failure of the church not to do this that causes so many difficulties and problems today. So, a Biblical meaning of patriotism is that we work for God in our nation, with His will and law being our ultimate goal. When you know that all is God’s, that anything you render to Caesar you will render for God’s sake. To desire the best for the country of which God has made you a citizen is to want that country to be righteous and just where sin is a reproach to any people. Christians are the best kind of citizens, for they should be able to see what is best for the country. We must be utilized in our faith to turn the region we occupy from the enemies wicked ways and to embrace the Lordship of Christ.
Christian citizens in high places can be a force for good. God places us in positions, and we must agree if it’s not to our liking at times. This requires courage. For example, Queen Esther was in a high position when the decree went out to destroy the Jews, and God used her for good in that position, even though her Royal husband was arbitrary and cruel. Her godly uncle Mordecai became prime minister because of the whole incident, serving the same King and becoming second in rank to King Xerxes. God blessed him with preeminence among the Jews, and he was held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews. God desires us to serve faithfully in those positions.
Stay the course and hold the line in the position God has placed you.

DAILY DECLARATION WE SHOULD BE MAKING:
“I am bought by the covenantal Blood of Jesus, and I cannot be cursed. Therefore, I take authority over every demonic assignment against myself, my family, my ministry, my business, or my God-ordained leadership role. I break every assignment of Athaliah, and every type of spirit that goes along with it – the affliction, the constriction, the compression; and I decree right now, in Jesus’ name, that Jesus is my true King, and I will serve Him only. I declare I am in covenant with God and I’m going to be the intercessor, the reformer, and the watchman-warrior that He has called me to be. I receive fresh fire from Heaven so that I can complete my assignments and fulfill my destiny, in the name of Jesus Christ.”
NAMES OF GOD CHRISTOPHER HUDSON… ORI – MY LIGHT!
Imagined a tent full of Boy Scouts with only one flashlight to share. Midnight-it’s to the outhouse would surely turn into comical adventures as all those scouts trying to follow one small beam of light down a dark path. The boys in front would see well enough, but those in the back would, at best, stub their toes. At worst, they would march headlong into a tree. In such a scenario, it wouldn’t be long before these boys started to wrestle over whose turn it was to hold the light! But imagine if each Scout had his own light. Isaiah 10:17 tells us that God is the Light of Israel. Isaiah 42:6 tells us He is a light for the Gentiles or the light of the nations. Psalm 27 reminds us that God’s light is for individuals to: The Lord is my light, David exclaims. There is individuality in that promise, as well as intimacy in a one-on-one relationship. God is the light of the world, but He is also my light, and yours.
The implications are enormous. Because God is your light, you don’t have to sit in darkness waiting for the light God has supplied to your pastor, priest, or mentor. God can illuminate your heart. In other words, you’re not dependent on your parent’s relationship with God or spouse’s faith or at least you shouldn’t be. God will be your life. He will lead you uniquely as you both experienced and work out your own salvation (Philippians 2:12). This is not to say we should live isolated, independent lives. God calls us to live in community. But that means being interdependent, not dependent. God wants to be your individual light. And He wants you to join your light with other believers so that corporately we might be a city on a hill, a light to the world. Take a close look at one of the most often quoted verses in the Bible: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
QUESTION: How has God’s light changed your life?
“The Lord is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
STATE CAPITOL ROTUNDA PRAYER GATHERING REPORT – 3/23/23
I am so thankful for the “Trojan Horse” radical praying remnant who came to the Lansing Capitol Rotunda (Womb) last Thursday. We had 70 in attendance where we prayed, praised, worshiped, and made declarations unto the Lord. State legislators visited and a number of children came into our meeting with state capitol tours. We moved aside and prayed over this younger generation. It was a special day. We will gather again in the Rotunda on April 27th at 10 AM. What will it take to have pastors, ministry leaders, watchmen, and intercessors to see the importance of going into the belly of the beast???
