YOUR MISSION FIELD
What is your mission field? A great awakening is upon us where we must think very carefully on our sphere of influence and how we can quicken them to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The squeeze on upon Americans who will draw people to their knees seeking God for peace in this troubled world. Have you taken time to write down all the people in your sphere of influence. This sphere includes those you have some relationship with. It doesn’t matter how small or large that sphere is because it takes one person to create a domino effect with the message of the gospel is spontaneously multiplied. We each carry a mission. Missionis the divine activity of sending intermediaries, whether supernatural or human, to speak or do God’s will so that his purposes for judgment or redemption are furthered. The biblical concept is expressed by the use of verbs meaning “to send, ” normally with God as the expressed subject.
We will all give an account for what we have done with our time, talents, and resources. It says in Revelation 1211 is by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. We are not to be ashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16). Remember, eternity hangs in the balance for all of those in your sphere. Your personal testimony can be a key to unlock the spiritual chains over those you know.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:11)
Christian missions is obeying Christ
After Christ’s death and resurrection, the Lord commanded the disciples to share the gospel, the message of His redemption: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28: 19-20).
This Great Commission applies to Christians today. Rather than weighing us down with a burden, obeying God’s call brings joy and reward in heaven. We should fulfill our mission not out of duty but love: “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. . . . All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. “And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”. (2 Corinthians 5: 14-21)
God could convert everyone using a blinding light and the voice of Christ as He did with the apostle Paul. Instead, He gives Christians the mission of reconciliation (Acts 1: 8-9). He works through us, calling sinners to turn to Christ in repentance and faith.
What is the biblical basis for World Missions?
God sent Christ; Christ sent the church. The biblical basis for missions is the Word of God spoken in divine authority; it is the mandate of Christ. We live in a time wherein the secular culture and many ecclesiastical authorities dismiss the whole concept of world missions. God sends missionaries through the support of the church to the unreached. All Christians, however, have the mission of reconciliation. The Lord works through them to rescue the lost. What greater mission can one fulfill?
BIBLE IS TRUE BOOKLET PLAN – WHAT IS PAY IT FORWARD: Pay it forward is an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying the kindness to others instead of to the original benefactor. Topay it forward simply means to repay a kindness received with a good deed to someone else. How many have witnessed the gospel and prayed for each of us to be saved? If someone does something kind for you, and you ask how you can thank them or return their kindness, they might sometimes tell you to ‘pay it forward’. This means they don’t expect you to do anything for them in return, but they are suggesting you pass on the kindness by doing something kind for someone else instead.
