Tonight’s Call – THE PASSOVER!
WHAT IS PASSOVER?
Passover, or Pesach in Hebrew, is one of the Jewish religion’s most sacred and widely observed holidays. In Judaism, Passover commemorates the story of the Israelites’ departure from ancient Egypt, which appears in the Hebrew Bible’s books of Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, among other texts. Jews observe the weeklong festival with a number of important rituals, including a traditional Passover meal known as a seder, the removal of leavened products from their home, the substitution of matzo for bread and the retelling of the exodus tale. Passover (a contraction of the words “pass” and “over”) is a translation of the Hebrew word Pesach, which means to “skip” or “jump.” What is the source of this name? As God was poised to take the Israelites out of Egypt, He instructed Moses to tell the people of Israel to prepare by bringing a sheep into their homes.
On the night that He was about to bring death upon the Egyptians, the Israelites slaughtered the lambs and ate them with matzah and maror. They were also instructed to take the blood of the lamb and smear it on their doorposts, a sign to G‑d that this was an Israelite home, to be passed over, while death was visited upon the firstborns in all other homes. This is what gave the Passover sacrifice (and holiday) its name.
Passover 2024 begins on April 22, 2024, and ends on April 30, 2024. The date of Passover changes each year because the date is set not by the Gregorian calendar, but by the lunar-based Hebrew calendar. It always occurs during the Hebrew month of Nisan. According to the Torah’s Book of Exodus, Passover is a seven-day observance, beginning and ending with special “yom tov ” days, marked by refraining from work. However, the Diaspora led to changes in this practice; to ensure the observance aligned with the Jewish calendar, rabbis decreed an eight-day celebration for Jews living outside Israel.
According to the Hebrew Bible, Jewish settlement in ancient Egypt first occurs when Joseph, a son of the patriarch Jacob and founder of one of the 12 tribes of Israel, moves his family there during a severe famine in their homeland of Canaan. For many years the Israelites live in harmony in the province of Goshen, but as their population grows the Egyptians begin to see them as a threat. After the death of Joseph and his brothers, the story goes, a particularly hostile pharaoh orders their enslavement and the systematic drowning of their firstborn sons in the Nile.
The Story of Moses
One of these doomed infants is rescued by the pharaoh’s daughter, given the name Moses (meaning “one who is pulled out”) and adopted into the Egyptian royal family. When he reaches adulthood, Moses becomes aware of his true identity and the Egyptians’ brutal treatment of his fellow Hebrews. He kills an Egyptian slave master and escapes to the Sinai Peninsula, where he lives as a humble shepherd for 40 years. One day, however, Moses receives a command from God to return to Egypt and free his kin from bondage, according to the Hebrew Bible. Along with his brother Aaron, Moses approaches the reigning pharaoh (who is unnamed in the biblical version of the story) several times, explaining that the Hebrew God has requested a three-day leave for his people so that they may celebrate a feast in the wilderness.
The 10 Plagues
When the pharaoh refuses, God unleashes 10 plagues on the Egyptians, including turning the Nile River red with blood, diseased livestock, boils, hailstorms, locusts and three days of darkness, culminating in the slaying of every firstborn son by an avenging angel. The Israelites, however, mark the door frames of their homes with lamb’s blood so that the angel of death will recognize and “pass over” each Jewish household.
Terrified of further punishment, the Egyptians convince their ruler to release the Israelites, and Moses quickly leads them out of Egypt. The pharaoh changes his mind, however, and sends his soldiers to retrieve the former slaves. As the Egyptian army approaches the fleeing Jews at the edge of the Red Sea, a miracle occurs: God causes the sea to part, allowing Moses and his followers to cross safely, then closes the passage and drowns the Egyptians. According to the Hebrew Bible, the Jews—now numbering in the hundreds of thousands—then trek through the Sinai desert for 40 tumultuous years before finally reaching their ancestral home in Canaan, later known as the Land of Israel.

LOGIC: There are hundreds of methods for dating the age of the earth. However, none can scientifically prove how long ago the Earth formed. We can look at objects and determine their mass, color, composition, and rate of change, but none of these things will determine the objects age. To determine a date, we must know how much of something was present at the beginning and how it has changed since formation. In other words, all dating methods depend on assumptions and any date we get depends upon the assumptions that are made. It is impossible to scientifically prove the age of an ancient object.
However, if unbiased observers make the same assumptions that evolutionist routinely make, extending present measured rates of change into the distant past, the vast majority of dating methods indicate that the earth and the solar system or form quite recently. For example, scientists have been able to calculate the rate at which certain elements (aluminum, antimony, calcium, chlorine, copper, cobalt, gold, iron, lead, mercury, nickel, silicon, silver, sodium, tin, zinc, etc.), flow into the ocean. By dividing the amount of these elements in ocean water by the measured rate at which the same elements are flowing into the ocean, we can estimate and age for the ocean. It turns out these methods date the oceans and the earth relatively young. In actuality, the most reliable methods of determining the age of an object is to research written historical records concerning the object. This is exactly what we have in the Bible.

“I am suffering by far the worst conditions I have ever been in. Worst conditions known to man. I have been held for a week without a change of clothes, without access to phone calls, without access to a towel/ hygiene product, without access to a pencil or piece of paper to write a letter, and I am stuck in a bleak, dirty featureless dungeon-like cell 23 hours a day, with a light in the cell that never turns off.
The one hour a day I am given to leave my cell Monday through Friday is a 15×15 bird cage to stand in, where you are separated from other inmates and any human interaction. The environment I am in is so devoid of simulation the days and nights melt together. We don’t have books, we don’t have a radio, we don’t have access to our family, we don’t know what time it is, and the guards completely ignore every request of ours.
This is hell on earth. I come to you not in the spirit of defeat, nor am I down trotted by my enemies’ attempts to break me, but these clear evident human rights abuses at the hands of the Biden DOJ need to be exposed and immediately stopped. They have threatened to strip me naked, and keep me in a cell in a painters paper zip up suit for asking for grievance paperwork, legal calls, and religious services. The diet they force upon you is wholly insufficient and leaves you starving every day before nightfall. We are served our last meal at 4pm with 15 minutes to eat before they pound on our cell door to take our tray away. I am denied commissary, so I am left hungry for the rest of the day.
Without the love of God, I would be in the most hopeless situation I could ever imagine any human being surviving under. Every semblance of human dignity has been stripped from me including my most sacred right to speak freely to my loved ones, to the court and to you the people. The evil BOP and DOJ are trying their hardest to make me disappear from humanity. I’ll survive if they don’t kill me. Do not be in fear because God is still in control. “
