Why is there such a great effort to eliminate our PERSONAL and RELIGIOUS freedoms today? It is all summed up in the word’s manipulation and control. We are experiencing a preview of a premature attempt to bring forth a system that is antichrist. This attempt will fail if we persevere in prayer and action. Too many times the church has become apathetic where it has not seen the stranglehold that has been taking place for decades.
FREEDOM: the quality or state of being free, such as: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action. liberation from slavery or from the power of another.
All too often, people who live in freedom tend to ignore its fragility and take it for granted. Conversely, people who have not been raised within a long-standing tradition of freedom have trouble understanding and implementing it in their society. For many years the younger generation has been stripped of a deeper understanding of freedom. The Word says if foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do. Foundational freedoms are being stripped in society. We each have a “Free Will” that describes our capacity to make choices that are genuinely our own. With free will comes moral responsibility – our ownership of our good and bad deeds. We are being challenged with our free will to make choices that will defend our freedom. There is always a price to pay for having freedom. Who is willing to pay that price? God has always prepared a remnant to co-labor with him to advance his kingdom purposes.
Biblically, the freedom Jesus and Apostles are talking about is freedom of the mind and heart. The point is that the world enslaves us with desires for wealth, success, and status. These desires mean we wake up every day unhappy, jealous, stressed, and constantly comparing ourselves to others. In the world we presently live in we see how freedom is being threatened through corruption, fraud, the love of money, forced vaccinations and mandates, and personal tracking of our lives instituted by government. What will we do about it? The Scriptures below are a great guide!
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Corinthians 3:17)
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.” (Isaiah 61:1)
