The Lord is building a new church. Just as you construct a house you must have a toolbox with all the right tools. A toolbox without a hammer is not complete. Each of us have been equipped with spiritual gifts which are tools to build the Lord’s house. The church as we have known it is rapidly changing and being constructed under God’s new blueprint. When constructing a physical house, it does not mean the laborers have the proper skill sets to use the tools. All carpenters must go through a training process to use those tools. It is no different in the body of Christ. All of us have spiritual gifts which are God’s tools. Everything is under construction in our nation in all the governmental gateways of society. But we must focus on the building of his church.
As we all know every spiritual house needs a foundation. That foundation is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). We have all been called to labor in this current day and it begins in aligning our thought life with God’s word. The house will be constructed properly if we have faith and believe in what the word of God says. Confession of his word followed by action will construct the spiritual house that God desires. We have each been given a special set of gifts which are literal tools. Of course, it begins with the fivefold ministry. As the head of the Church (Colossians 1:18), Christ passed on to us His ministry in five key parts or roles: Apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds (pastors) and teachers.
We also must recognize the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit which are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord as part of what is in our spiritual toolbox. We then realize God has given us personal gifts as well which are mentioned below in 1 Corinthians 12: 4-14. If you ever seen or witnessed a group of Amish who can put up a pole barn with such speed that it will amaze anybody. It is because each of them recognizes their function in the particular carpentry skill they have in working together as one the mission is accomplished.
We are being postured today to be just as effective. The grace of God is available so each of us can realize our destiny and create a legacy that will bless generations to come. Are you up for the challenge? May we continue to run the race until the end so we can stand before the Lord and hear those words – “Well done my good and faithful servant”.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink [g]into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.” (I Corinthians 12: 4-14)
