How many times have you heard the past is the past and today is a new day? Some of us have found it difficult to cross that threshold to feel the full victory in our identity in Christ. Why is that? There are several reasons. One area we must realize is that Satan attacks everyone in those areas that are common to man. He looks for footholds! We are in a great war today that is attacking the mind, body, soul, and spirit of man. He will try to isolate you to make you believe that you are the only one facing this problem and wear you out.
Many times, Satan will bring up the former or old things to stop you from fulfilling your calling and destiny. He sends forth tormentors which are demonic entities who terrorize a person from old things in the past, deliberately making them suffer. We must continue to return to the CROSS for mercy and grace. These attacks come through our thought life where if dwelt on can lead us into a tunnel of darkness which can be difficult to climb out of. An emotional drain takes place to wear you out and steal your happiness. You fight out of a product of emotion where it is difficult to bring those thoughts into the captivity of Christ.
Every person has different areas the enemy will attempt to attack. We must not fight from the flesh but must resist in the spirit realm. These attacks must be resisted in the spirit.
The whole armor of God (Eph. 6: 12-18) must always be fully in place. Resist in the spirit, have faith and declare your victory. We must stand fast in the liberty where Christ has made us free. Every yoke of bondage that the enemy attempts to put on you can and will be broken in Jesus’ name!
