Christians have developed several types of evangelism, each having its own methods. The main three are: Pulpit, Passive, and Aggressive Planned. We are all called to do the work of an evangelist as we each have a sphere of influence given to us by God. The question we must ask ourselves: have you shared your testimony on how Jesus Christ has changed your life? The word is clear that it is appointed for once man to die than the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). How serious are we to take the Scripture while knowing eternity hangs in the balance for those who are around us? An evangelist by the name of Leonard Ravenhill said…”Step eternity on your eyeballs”. Think that statement through very carefully. We each have spiritual gifts that must be utilized to contend for the faith. What does contend mean?
CONTEND: Strive or Debate
Jesus said narrow is the way and few find it and many go on a broad path of destruction (Matthew 7: 13-14). What if that’s true? Yes, God is love and he is now willing for any to perish but the incipiency of the free will always come forth in every individual decision. It has been shown that pulpit evangelism is less effective than personal one-on-one evangelism. Passive evangelism can be good but also used as an excuse not to evangelize. What is passive evangelism?
PASSIVE EVANGELISM – If you work near someone for eight hours each day, if you talk to your neighbors and they witness your lifestyle, and if you live with your parents, siblings, wife\husband, and children you are influencing all of them. It is also being a servant to those around you.
Have you ever gone fishing? If you take the time to do this, would you choose a location where there are no fish? We can all agree we should go where the fish are to catch fish. This leads us into what we would call aggressive planned evangelism. Universities are a hotbed for the unsaved. There are many fish swimming in that environment of vain philosophies and traditions of men. We have heard of many stories of past preachers who set up on street corners, places where people frequent, or places outside of the church building and declare that Jesus Christ is the only way.
Have you ever heard of D. L. Moody? It was the famous open-air evangelist who would pass out tracts consistently. He was approached by an individual who did not agree with this method. Moody responded by saying…”I like the way I’m doing it better than a way that you are not”. I personally have experienced preaching open-air on college campuses and many have approached me over the years and told me the same thing. I was accused of spreading hate and not love. I respond many times and say warnings are an act of love and try to use modern-day parables to reach the hearts and minds of our young people. Many times, I had indicated that the body of Christ is like a football team. I may be the offensive lineman, but I have encouraged those who oppose my methods to execute their position on the team with due diligence. For most part, and I am not saying this is wrong, they were passive evangelists who were not really sharing the gospel and bringing conviction of sin.
So the challenge to all of us today are you doing the work of an evangelist? Are you contending for the faith? Have you seen the reality of what eternity is as people pass us by each day? We have been called to be soldiers for Christ and not to be entangled with the affairs of this life. So, make sure that every person in your sphere of influence that God has given you understands your testimony that Jesus Christ came, died, and rose again to take away the sins of the world. Declare today is a new day and evaluate those that you know in your walk of life because the harvest is plenty, and the laborers are few. Work the field God has given you with great passion and tenacity.
“But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:5)
“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” (Jude 3)
“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease [a]among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were [b]weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9: 35-38)

I have followed TM for over a year now and have learned a lot, supported a lot of different things and people that you have on there and I am very thankful for all the work that you do. But I am VERY CONCERNED with the post of Neville Goddard. I listened to the first one and heard him say that we are IAM and the self of man is god??? There is no other god??? Is this not new age teaching? Reaching into your inner self as god. Think it and get it,
If this is what you are teaching I am very disappointed and do no longer what to point people to your site.

I am no longer posting his videos on our site or newsletter. Truth + Error = Error. He carries much truth, but that was an error which he is certainly wrong. I investigated it. Appreciate you seeing that!!! If you have been on our calls long enough you must know what we believe. We constantly uplift Christ and the Godhead. We have never said we are gods…quite the contrary. We have Calvinist and those who hold an Arminian view on our calls; those who believe gifts are in operation today as well as cessationist who do not not; and those with different end time views.
My contention is that all of our theology will be adjusted when we stand before the Lord. If you choose to leave the calls that is your prerogative. There will always be things where there may be disagreement. There is a war always between doubt (unbelief) and faith and that solely deals with how you think. We must bring every thought into the captivity of Christ. This is how I see reaching into my inner self. Jesus could do no mighty works because of their unbelief (Thoughts) – Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:58).
We will always teach not to be double minded (thoughts) or being unwavering or undecided. – “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. “For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1: 6-9)
The New Age has attempted to steal the “Rainbow” for example – we will still use it. They always have corrupted basic teachings in the Word and I cannot be deterred from the truth of our thought lives and the importance of reigning them in. Paul always taught on the struggle regarding the inner man. Just because New Age proponents speak of it… should it deter me of the truth regarding it. No!
