Tonight’s Call – ROSEMARIE WRIGHT…THE ART OF WAR…I WAS THERE!

This month of February is giving us definitive signs that the spiritual war we have been in is increasing in intensity. Our position on the “Wall of Prayer” must be intact. Most Christians believe that war should be avoided if possible and should only be undertaken if all efforts to resolve an issue by peaceful means have failed. Many Christians see war as the result of a failure to live by God’s standards. I am sure therefore America is going through what we are experiencing at this time. What we are witnessing has now seen the fruits of evil which has been at work for decades in our nation.

Remember what the Lord said…: ‘Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place (Jeremiah 22:3). We must fight for what is right! God will fight for us as we make our appeals to heaven. The whole world sits under the authority of Christ (Matthew 28:18), and so the world is the Lord’s. Wherever a Christian lives in God’s world, he or she engages in a spiritual battle against the cosmic rulers that futilely wage war against God’s victory in Christ (Ephesians 5:1-9, 6:10-18). Soldiers today are taught to stand firm and stand together, to work as a team, watch each other’s back and protect one another. Paul then uses the reference to a soldier saying, “no one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs – he wants to please his commanding officer” (2 Timothy 2:4). The Lord is our commanding officer and hearing His voice is of utmost importance.

It is critical in this spiritual war the issues we bring up to pray for are not the real issue…but are a reflection of what we are really opposing. What is our main target or opposition? It is the kingdom of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places. Is what we are engaging in justified today? A war is only just if it is fought for a reason that is justified, and that carries sufficient moral weight. We have justification as you see the evil that has been openly exposed. How long will this war be? Divine war was always for a limited time and for a specific purpose and God was patient and loving and gave ample opportunities for people to repent. Has he given ample opportunities for our nation to repent? Yes!

When the Lord moves on the body of Christ and tells us it’s a time for war it is not intended to wipe out entire people groups. It is about God’s judgment on false religions; corrupt political systems; loss of morality in our culture; love of money; those involved in sexual trafficking; the shedding of innocent blood; the attack on traditional marriage; and a host of other things. Again, be encouraged as we have been prepared for such a time as this. God will not forsake us and has equipped each one of us to engage in this battle where we have been assigned.

“A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

“You are my war club, my weapon for battle— with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms,” (Jeremiah 51:8)

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.” (Matthew 24:6)

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4)
