TONIGHT’S CALL – BIOPHYSICIST STEVE YAGER…HEALING OUR BODIES!

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We were created with great reverence, heart-felt interest, and respect to be unique and set apart! Our bodies have an intricate connection between body, soul (mind/will/emotions), and spirit. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

We are the temples of the Holy Spirit! So, what does it mean for our bodies to be a temple? It means we have been through 3 levels of God’s care: Creation, redemption, and the bestowing and indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Because of this, there is no greater reason to treat your body like a temple. Temples are for worship, so praise for God should always arise from our lives. As God’s temples, we are not our own but are called to be living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). The church is the body of Christ, so it too is holy.

We are not to defile it. To defile the temple of God is to corrupt or pollute it. Sexual immorality pollutes that temple. What about other things? Are we to take care of it physically? Yes!!! God desires us to live a long life in the spiritual and physical realms. We are called to advance His Kingdom here on earth. We need to pay heed to how we take care of ourselves physically. Most of the diseases afflicting mankind have a spiritual root. What about the physical things we do…such as food intake and environmental influences? We must evaluate our daily life and eliminate those things which harm our physical bodies. We have been called to be well and whole spiritually and physically. Take time to evaluate your daily routine and ask the Lord to impress upon you changes that need to be made.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” (Psalm 139:14)

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” (1 Corinthians 3: 16-17)

•Ban outside funding for elections and restrict mail-in ballots
