Meeting Notification for Public Comment at State Board of Canvassers Meeting Monday, Nov. 28

Hello Everyone,

On Monday, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. in Lansing, please plan to support Requesting a Stay on Certification of the 2022 Election at the State of Michigan Board of Canvassers Meeting.

County canvassers were asked to certify the election based upon data provided by tabulation machines that weren’t subjected to a public accuracy test or other testing to ensure they accurately recorded precinct-level election results – among many other concerns (contact us for specific talking points, if needed).

When: Please plan to arrive at 9 a.m., if possible or earlier, to allow for parking and dress warmly in case you have to wait in line.

Where:

Binsfeld Office Building

Room 1100

201 Townsend Street

Lansing, MI

Parking: available attached to the Binseld Office Building but for mapping purposes with your phone’s GPS, use 221 Townend St. for an address.

For parking prices, see: https://senate.michigan.gov/Parking_Ramp.pdf

Public Comment:

Per the agenda (see link at the end), certification will occur before public comment, but our comments still add value.

A.      If you give a Public Comment in Person, note the following:

1.       General public is allowed to make a one-minute statement.

  1. Contact us for talking points if that’s helpful, and/or you can add your own comments.
  2. You won’t be asked any questions by the board.

2.       If you are one of the following, you will be allowed 3 minutes to speak:

  • Candidates or an authorized representative
  • Representatives of a ballot question committee
  • Representatives of a major political party
  • County or municipal clerks.

B.      Public Comment by email (there’s no Zoom option during the meeting.)

If you can’t attend in person to make a live comment, you are encouraged to submit your comments in writing in advance of the meeting to the Board at MDOS-Canvassers@Michigan.gov.

Bring your children and teens! This is a great civics lesson (so that when we spend our hard-earned dollars to send them off to college, they won’t allow their votes to be manipulated by a piece of pizza.)

Thank you for your support. Let’s sound our trumpets to stop certification until the election is investigated.

Live stream: The meeting will also be live streamed through Senate TV: https://cloud.castus.tv/vod/misenate?page=HOME. (You can only provide comment by being there in person or emailing to the address below in advance.)
