Tonight’s Call – PRAYING FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY! Rosemarie Wright

All men and women in authority are susceptible to Satan’s attacks who are attempting to serve God and His Kingdom principles. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, we must have a deeper understanding of what is at work regarding the spirit of this age that has permeated all our cultural gateways in society. Jezebel is always at work in the governmental mountain. We must dethrone Jezebel by educating the church about what this spirit does to those who are in authority. We must pray for those in authority to have a Biblical Worldview mindset. Prayer helps them stay in tune with God’s kingdom purposes.

During a recent meeting we had at MICHOP on January 6 some key strategies were released. We desire to form strike teams that would visit various legislators in our state to offer prayer and intercession for them. Relationships would be built. The word is very clear when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice but when the wicked rule the people mourn. We certainly have experienced and have mourned because of these present-day wicked rulers in our government. So, we must go into the offices of our legislators to engage the spirit of this age that is at work in our culture. We will find and locate a remnant of godly legislators to be a support to them which will shift the government to righteousness. Remember the story of the Trojan horse. Our strike teams will go inside the enemy’s camp. Arrows of righteousness will be shot out and we will find the Achilles’ heel of Jezebel who is at work.

Needless to say, the spiritual war we are engaging in will determine the future for our children and grandchildren. It will take that intercessory radical minority to run headlong into that battleground. Many of you are being stirred as you read this so be obedient to the Holy Spirit and respond. May we stay the course and hold the line and take back America.

Give a talented sculptor a lump of clay and you unleash exquisite creativity. The artist becomes inspired, dreaming and envisioning what this blob of simple clay can and will become. The Potter begins to work with it passionately forming it and fashioning it with his hands. If those who happened to be passing by have no clue what the artist has in mind. They may try to guess, but only the Potter knows his intentions. Some onlookers may even wonder, what is he doing? He’s ruining it! Why doesn’t he make ______ instead? Of course, the true artist ignores his critics. They’re not privy to his plans. And if the onlookers are oblivious to what the Potter is doing, how much less does the clay understand? If it could field and speak, it would tell of being squished, squashed, shaped, spun, scraped, and baked in a furnace. If the clay could reason, it would only be able to say it’s being crafted into some kind of vessel for some kind of unknown purpose.

According to the Bible, God is like a Potter. And we are like clay in His hands. We don’t know what He has in mind for us. We’re often clueless as to what He’s shaping us into. At any given moment, God’s sculpting of us is painful, confusing, and dizzying. Sometimes it seems impossible that we will ever be useful, much less beautiful. But if we trust a partner, we can trust that the day is coming when we will look in the mirror and gasp, “Oh my! That is better! The Apostle Paul wrote, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). It is not our job to question or critique the Potter. It’s our job to rest in His hands, knowing He’s not done with us yet.

QUESTION: When do you find it difficult to trust in God’s plan for you?

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay; you are the Potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8)
