Tonight’s Call – WHAT WOULD THE WORLD BE LIKE WITHOUT CHRIST!
One of the greatest secrets that has been hidden from society is how Christ affected the cultural gateways in which we live. We must get this information out to the younger generation so they can realize the value of how God has looked over mankind because of His love for us. God provides the inspiration, and it always has taken individuals to rise up to bring a better quality of life to those around us.
Years ago, I read a book by Dr. D. James Kennedy and Jerry Newcombe called What If Jesus Had Never Been Born? It gave me great insight into how Christ impacted the world. I highly recommend you read it. How Christ has impacted our world needs to be taught in our churches and schools. Jesus Christ is the greatest man who ever lived, and he has changed virtually every aspect of human life– and most people don’t know it. How tragic it is that people have forgotten Him to whom they also very much. The whole world counts time as Before Christ (BC) and AD, which means Anno Domini, “In the year of the Lord.”
Emperors and governors were the men with power in Christ’s day. But now their bodies rot in their sepulchers, and their souls await the final judgment. They have no followers today. No one worships them. No one serves him or awaits their bedding. Not so with Jesus Christ! Napoleon was well accustomed to political power, so that it would be amazing if a Roman emperor could rule from the grave, and yet that is what Jesus has been doing. Of course, we would disagree with Napoleon because Jesus is not dead but He’s alive.
Napoleon said, “I search in vain in history to find something similar to Jesus Christ, or anything which can approach the gospel… Nations pass away, thrones crumble but the church remains.” Christ’s influence on the world is immeasurable. Prior to the coming of Christ, human life on this planet was exceedingly cheap. Life was expendable prior to Christianity’s influence. Even today, in parts of the world where the gospel of Christ or Christianity is not penetrated, life is exceedingly cheap. For example, in the Fiji Islands in the 1800’s you could buy a human being for seven dollars or one musket. That was cheaper than a cow. After having bought him you could work him, whip him, starve him, according to your preference — and many did the latter.
When Christian chapels came to those islands the gospel of Christ was proclaimed, and people have been taught that we are not our own; that we have been purchased with a price, not the silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. The practice ended of selling humans in the Fiji Islands. We must look at the cultural gateways today in society. In the post-Christian West, we have abandoned our Judeo Christian heritage, life is becoming cheap once again.
So, what must we do? Take the offensive and teach our children and grandchildren the impact that Christ had on the world. As we see revival and awakening manifesting before our eyes, what a perfect time to solidify the faith that many are coming into as we see a move of repentance and search for truth. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. What we are speaking of here should be taught in every school. People perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) …and we must grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 2:18).

Many people today are beginning to look at Christianity as an impediment to the continuation of their freedom– to sin. But they have transformed liberty into license, and the worst form of licentiousness, they don’t want anybody speaking against that or in any way restraining them. Hence, the modern hedonist views Christianity as repressive and not liberating. Sending out to set themselves free– to fulfill all of their lasts– the hedonists find themselves ultimately in bondage to tyranny. As Edmund Burke said, “There must be some restraining influence upon the wills and passions of men, and the less there is from within, the more there must be from without.”
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air, and nest in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32)
“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)

The reason we cannot fully understand God is because He is transcendent. He is bigger than what we can understand. By vastness of His very nature, God is incomprehensible. If God were finite enough to be fully understood, He would lack the breadth of power to sustain the universe. And while all human knowledge can be documented, God’s knowledge and thoughts can never be exhaustively recorded or measured. If God’s expansive knowledge could be captured, catalogued, and learned by others, then His wisdom would have limits. Just as sparks leap upward from a fire and fly out of reach, so God’s wisdom, power, and knowledge soar far above humanity’s ability to grasp and understand them.
Because of our limited scope and vision, it is easy for many of us to take God to task– to criticize what we see Him doing, to complain about His lack of action, to wonder if He is at work. Because of God’s transcendence, however, He lives outside time and space. He sees the future and the past at the same time. The entire timeline of humanity lies before Him like a panoramic photograph. He comprehends it all at once. Is God uncaring because He doesn’t act? No. Because of His transcendence, He sees the outcome of every scenario and can select the best course of action. Is God mean-spirited because He doesn’t relieve our suffering? No. Because of His ability to see the future, He knows how today’s events shape tomorrow.
How does God’s transcendence affect our view of God in our worship of him? To put it simply, we do not worship God because we have the human ability to raise Him above ourselves; we worship God because He is, by His very nature, above us.
QUESTION: How would you describe the transcendence of God to a child?
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord, as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Day of equipping for reformers in Michigan. Pastor Peter Dresser is hosting Pastor Rob McCoy from California. He is the pastor of God Speak in California. His church came into the spotlight when it refused to close for Covid 19 restrictions and mandates imposed by the California government. He began spearheading a movement to oppose all government overreach which denies religious freedoms. Recently, they went after the progressive liberalized voting laws in California. *PRAYER IN THE STATE CAPITOL MARCH 9TH 12 NOON – 2 PM – ROOM 426
The second Thursday of each month we would be praying inside the state capitol building in Lansing. The Michigan House of Prayer will be leading in room 426. The meeting is from 12 Noon-2 PM. We will be setting up at 11:30 AM. We will be praying for righteousness to return to our state. Praying for any sick legislators, staff members, or personnel will also be part of our efforts. Of course, any crisis situations that will have risen on a state or national level will be covered. We will be praying over legislators to make wise and godly decisions. Praise and worship will be part of the format of our gatherings. We all know that God inhabits our praises! This is a sacrifice of our time and resources, but Michigan hangs in the balance! We are believing for signs, miracles, and wonders to break out. This type of outbreak will get our legislators attention in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ will go forth.
