Tonight’s Call – THE PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS!
The persecution of Christians can be historically traced from the first century of the Christian era to the present day. Christian missionaries and converts to Christianity have both been targeted for persecution, sometimes to the point of being martyred for their faith, ever since the emergence of Christianity. Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. It is still the largest religious group in the world and continues to grow during times of persecution. Christians are called and have been persecuted for not worshiping other gods or taking part in any sacrifice (Abortion). The United States has the largest Christian population in the world, followed by Brazil, Mexico, Russia, and the Philippines.
We see that presently in America the Christian majority is shrinking and could dip below 50% in the future. What is the reason for this? We have addressed the reason for this decline in previous phone calls, but we must deal with this now. Research has shown in 2020 about 64% of Americans identify as Christians. 50 years ago, that number was 90%. The arguments against Christianity include the suppositions that it is a faith of violence, corruption, superstition, polytheism, homophobia, transforming, bigotry, pontification, abuses of women’s rights and sectarianism.
NOTE: The Portland metro area is the most religiously unaffiliated city in the United States, with 42% of residents identifying as atheists, agnostics, or no religion in particular. Research has shown that New Hampshire and Vermont were the least religious states in America followed by the state of Maine.
Back in the Roman empire the last and most severe persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire took place in 303 A.D. The Roman Empire was primarily a polytheistic civilization, which meant that people recognized and worshiped multiple gods and goddesses. The main God and goddesses in Roman culture were Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva. The emperors Diocletian, Maximian, Galerius, and Costantius issued a series of edicts rescinding Christians legal rights and demanding that they comply with traditional religious practices. Rome had a problem with Christianity because it believed there was just one God, and they prohibited worshiping other gods. In 313 A.D. The Roman Emperor Constantine the Great ended all persecution and declared toleration for Christianity. Later that century, Christianity became the official state religion of the Empire. When we look at today’s statistics it is estimated that 100,000 Christians die annually for their faith. In 2020 it is said that at least 360 million Christians experience high levels of persecution and discrimination. In 2021 it was higher and in 2022 it increased to new levels. Here we are in 2023!
NOTE: We must take into account the persecution of Christians by other Christians. When one Christian denomination persecutes another Christian denomination, this causes another great difficulty…disunity. We can see the impact of disunity in a time where it is needed.!
The great awakening in America that is presently underway where we will see a rapid spread of Christianity again. It gives us the promise of salvation and eternal life for everyone. Stories of miracles and healings purportedly show that the one Christian God is more powerful than the many Roman gods. This is the hope that we all carry today. We must never forget the five basic beliefs of Christianity. The five are uniqueness of Jesus and the virgin birth; one God or the tri-unity; necessity of the cross and salvation; resurrection and the second coming; and the inspiration of Scripture.
Are we facing a time of increased martyrdom? A martyr is a person who is killed because of the religious or other beliefs. It is a person who voluntarily suffers death as a penalty or witnessing to and refusing to renounce a religion. They are victimized for the benefit of others. Jesus Christ was the ultimate martyr. The word Christian means follower of Christ. So, are we to expect persecution and being martyred? The answer is yes! We are in a season where light, and darkness are clashing, and we can determine as the battle of the titans where all hell is breaking loose.
“This year, you will see a spiritual clash of titans. For just as Hell has released its fury upon My beloved creation, so have I released My vengeance against My enemies. These titans will invade regions and take back Kingdom control of cultural gates of influence, and Hell SHALL NOT PREVAIL against My governmental forces. I have been working to prepare My army, and now My company of apostolic war machines is ready for deployment. Now I am calling My titans to take back the high places! They will arise on the mountains of influence, armored in the superhuman power of the Holy Spirit as elite special forces to bind the powers of Hell and loose Kingdom strategy, revelation, angelic assistance, and governmental authority to transform and reform systems, governments and culture” (Christa Elisha)
We need to continually pray for strength to take back the high places. Stay the course and hold the line!
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of God.” (Matthew 5:)

God is known as the God of Grace…literally the God of undeserved favor. What does an unmerited blessing look like in a person’s life? God showed grace to Joseph’s brothers when He allowed Joseph to rescue them years after they mistreated him and sold him into slavery (Genesis 50:19-21). God poured out grace on the Israelite’s when He gave them a second set of tablets inscribed with the 10 Commandments after they disobeyed and disappointed Him (Genesis 32, 34). God’s grace rested on King David when he received forgiveness after arrogantly committing adultery and murder (2 Samuel 12:13). Grace in the form of strength and renewal was shown to the prophet Elijah after he doubted God (1 Kings 19). Moved by the desperate prayer of the abominable King Manasseh of Judah, God graciously restored Manasseh to his kingdom (2 Chronicles 33). And God’s grace was lavished on Peter when he received a second chance after denying Jesus (John 21)
By His immeasurable grace, God ambushed Saul, the zealot committed to wiping out the church, and transformed him into Paul, the missionary with a heart as big as the world and a desire to see local churches spring up to the ends of the earth (Acts 9). Paul never quite got over God’s grace. In fact, he was so odd that God would forgive him, the worst of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), and use him, he even started 10 of his 13 New Testament letters with the words grace to you from God. Because God is gracious and because He never changes, guess what? He’s gracious to us too. He does not treat us as our sins deserve. The Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore, he will rise up to show you compassion (Isaiah 30:18) if you think you’ve sinned terribly, or that you failed to adequately appreciate God’s blessings, you’re right, of course. The good news is that God is forgiving, patient, and kind. Grace is not only God’s nature but His name.
QUESTION: How has God shown you grace in your life beyond what you deserve?

The second Thursday of each month we would be praying inside the state capitol building in Lansing. The Michigan House of Prayer will be leading in room 426. The meeting is from 12 Noon-2 PM. We will be setting up at 11:30 AM. We will be praying for righteousness to return to our state. Praying for any sick legislators, staff members, or personnel will also be part of our efforts. Of course, any crisis situations that will have risen on a state or national level will be covered. We will be praying over legislators to make wise and godly decisions. Praise and worship will be part of the format of our gatherings. We all know that God inhabits our praises! This is a sacrifice of our time and resources, but Michigan hangs in the balance! We believe for signs, miracles, and wonders to break out. This type of outbreak will get our legislators attention in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ will go forth.
MICHIGAN: THE VOICE…MARCH 10, 2023 @ 7PM..FREE REGIONAL GATHERING!
In 2004, Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets came to Michigan and released the word that Michigan is The Voice to the nation. What does that mean? It means that we are forerunners. John the Baptist was the VOICE! We are a corporate John the Baptist who must cry in the middle of the wilderness, prepare the Way of the Lord. It means that we must speak out and model to the nation what God is about to do. We have entered a now time. Prepare the Way!
We are entering the time of greatest revival and awakening man has experienced. The winds have started to blow over Michigan and they are about to hit hurricane force. Several prophets have recently released words that this is Detroit and Michigan’s time. Gina Gholston released a powerful prophetic word over Michigan in October 2022. Many people thought it was related to the election. However, it’s a much bigger word than that. I believe that we have entered our kairos opportune moment where we must activate the words. You can read Gina’s word here: Because of what I’ve been sensing I called Ed Watts to get his take. Two weeks ago, we counseled together over Michigan, and both agreed that we must now begin to stir up the prophetic words over Michigan, call them into being. In other words, we must gather the state and corporately release our voice, stirring up what God is saying.
We set March 10th, 7 PM as the night we would gather. I started calling leaders in different areas of the state, including the Upper Peninsula. In two days at least 10 agreed to come and speak in Michigan. I knew there must be a cross-section of Michigan leaders including Black, White, Hispanic, First Nations, City, Rural, Male, Female and Multi-generational. All of them are leaders of churches or hubs, big churches, small churches. Some of those who have said I’m coming are: Apostles/Prophets Renee Growchowski, Jonathan Russo, Ed Watts, Keith Hudson, Joe Wenturine, Victor Torres, Asia Mchaney, Matt Jones, Bishop Andrew Merritt—father to Detroit, and several more.
