Day 866 March 20 2023

Tonight’s Call – THE IMPORTANCE OF WORSHIP!

We have two kingdoms in conflict. A line has been drawn in the sand…a remnant is crossing over What if praise and worship along with our decrees and declarations are the remedy for the current crisis and condition our nation is experiencing? There is something about the sound of unity with our God given authority that literally shakes the atmosphere of the surroundings we occupy.

A new song is being given to us for this season of time.

Understanding the importance of prayer, praise, declaration, and worship is a key to any Christian’s walk – and the prayer closet movement of the radical remnant.  They convey intimate communication with God.  It is not just prayer, praise, declaration, and worship but “desperate prayer, passionate praise, faith filled declaration, and heart rendering worship” that makes available to us all the promises of God because of what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross.    Prayer, combined with praise, declaration, and worship, will develop an intimacy with God where His presence will be felt.  This type of relationship, cultivated in this atmosphere, will enable us to fulfill our destiny and make history because God is acting in our behalf.

We have sure used this phrase “Praise the Lord” many times.  It is wise to understand this word as true worship of God will resonate from our praises.  There is no Hebrew word found for praise in the book of Psalms.  There are seven Hebrew words that convey what PRAISE is though.  As you look at these various words we must ask if this is what is truly taking place in our corporate church settings.  Is this taking place in our prayer closets?  The good news is that a deeper understanding is being revealed and the church – the radical remnant – is responding with true praise.  Biblical praise will draw the presence of God.

HEBREW WORDS – PRAISE! – (Biblical Praise Brings the Presence of God)

YADAH – To worship with an extended hand; the giving of oneself in worship and adoration; to lift your hands unto the Lord which carries the meaning of absolute surrender as a child to his parents when he asks to be picked up.

TEHILLAH – To sing, to laud; a spontaneous new song; singing from a melody in your heart by adding words to it. This refers to a special kind of singing-it is singing unprepared, unrehearsed songs. Brings tremendous unity to the body of Christ and it is singing straight to God.  It is the praise that God inhabits (Psalm 22:3) God manifests Himself in the minds of exuberant singing.

BARAK  – To kneel or to bow; to give reverence to God as an act of adoration. It implies to continually give a conscious place to God.  Blessing the Lord, extolling virtue. There is a sense of kneeling and blessing God as an act of adoration in the word BARAK.

HALAL – To shine; to make a show, to boast and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; it is to rave and be causative, to celebrate; act madly; become unglued.

TOWDAH – To give worship by the extension of the hand in adoration or agreeing with what has been done or will be. It is the giving of thanks or praise as a sacrifice before reception or manifestation. It is thanking God for something that I don’t have in the natural. It is an agreement with His Word and faith in His Word – especially if one is very sick in the body.  The carnal mind would fight and ridicule this particular action, but there is great faith in TOWDAH as praise as this symbolizes agreement.

ZAMAR – To sing with instruments and make music accompanied by the voice; it also means to touch the strings and refers to praise that involves instrumental worship. It’s usually translated “sing praises.”

SHABACH – To address in a loud tone, a loud adoration, a shout! Proclaim with a loud voice, unashamed, the GLORY, TRIUMPH, POWER, MERCY, LOVE OF GOD. This word implies that testimony is praise. The phrase “shout unto the Lord” can be understood as the action of SHABACH. It is not just being loud. You should have the attitude of putting your whole being into it, an attitude of being totally uninhibited.

“Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD” (Psalm 150:1).

“I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name. For Your loving kindness and Your truth, For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”  (Psalm 138:1-2).

“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”  (Psalm 29:2)

 JANE HAMON…DEFEATING DEMON ATTACKS

“I am bought by the covenantal Blood of Jesus, and I cannot be cursed. Therefore, I take authority over every demonic assignment against myself, my family, my ministry, my business, or my God-ordained leadership role. I break every assignment of Athaliah, and every type of spirit that goes along with it – the affliction, the constriction, the compression; and I decree right now, in Jesus’ name, that Jesus is my true King, and I will serve Him only. I declare I am in covenant with God and I’m going to be the intercessor, the reformer, and the watchman-warrior that He has called me to be. I receive fresh fire from Heaven so that I can complete my assignments and fulfill my destiny, in the name of Jesus Christ.”

NAMES OF GOD CHRISTOPHER HUDSON…ADONAI – LORD!

Maybe you hear the title Lord and immediately think of some old movie about Victorian England, featuring Lord and the lady Blabbington living a privileged life with dutiful servants rushing about, tending to their every whim. As far as you can tell, being a Lord means being treated like royalty and with great honor. To be fair, this picture has some elements of truth– although the divine name Lord which is Adonai in Hebrew and Kurio in Greek involves much more than that.   Because ancient Hebrews considered the divine name YHWH which is Yahweh they substituted Adonai instead, which is translated as Lord to holy to pronounce. Inherent in the title or name Adonai are the ideas of sovereignty, rulership, and honor. Sovereignty…as our Creator, God possesses the owner’s deed to our lives. Isaiah 45:9 reads ‘Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the power,’ ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, “The potter has no hands?” As the One who both made and sustains us, the potter has full authority and control over our lives.

Rulership… Paul wrote, “You were bought at a price” 1 Corinthians 6:20). Bought? We bristle at the thought of being owned by anyone. Why should we have to do what another tells us? We’re not slaves, are we? Yes and no! We were bought or redeemed out of slavery to sin and into a new life of service to God. But God isn’t just a master or Lord who rules over us arbitrarily. He is a loving Father who uses His lordship over our lives to bring out His glory and our good. We are His servants, yes; and He is our adoring Father who wants to see us grow (Philippians 1:6). Honor… In turning to God on His terms, you acknowledge that He is your Adonai, your master and owner. Submitting to His authority feels scary, that it is quite fraying. Dedicating your life to the Lord’s glory is a great act of faith that pleases Him (Hebrews 11:6). You’re saying, “Lord, even as I seek to honor You with my life, I trust that You have my life in Your hands. Because You will take care of me, I can give myself fully to Your service and Your glory.”

God is our sovereign. Our Ruler. He is worthy of all honor.

QUESTION: In what areas of your life do you have trouble surrendering control to God?

“Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is above the earth and the heavens.” (Psalm 148:13)
