Tonight’s Call – LEARNING FROM HISTORY!
It is very important to understand history. Reflecting on the good and the bad can be lessons for all of us on how to avoid any future crisis. It appears we have not learned very well. It was said if you do not study history you are doomed to repeat it. Why not repeat the good instead? Studying history helps us understand and deal with complex questions and dilemmas by examining how the past has shaped and continues to shape us nationally and globally. It helps us to understand how events in the past made things the way they are today. We can learn much from stories of families, communities and our nation regarding freedom and equality; injustice and struggle; loss and achievement; and courage and triumph which shaped people’s personal values that guided them through life. History teaches vital skills. History is the vehicle for God’s work in the world. It allows us to temporarily step outside of our own culture to evaluate it considering another. Biblical history should be a role model for each one of us.!
What we are experiencing now in our nation has developed over decades of time and even over the past century. It appears evil and darkness has overtaken the American culture and the world. We must learn better to avoid the mistakes that led us to this day so we can create a better future path for our children and grandchildren. The Bible states how we need to teach our children history. Studying history contributes to moral understanding. It has always been my contention that the church has failed in this regard and compromised on many moral issues. This is why we are dealing with the murdering of children in the womb, sexual trafficking, transgender issues, and homosexuality. A Biblical Worldview is the ultimate solution in shaping history. When that is negated or set aside cultures spiral into depravity.
Understanding the founding of America and how this land was dedicated to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is critical for us to recover. Many attempts are being made to revise that history and again I believe the blame rests on the church. America is at the crossroads and God is intervening to reshape our history and we have been called to partner with Him in our appeals to heaven. May we look back at the good and command that “FOREWARD”! This is the purpose in all of us participating in this present “Call to the Wall”. We have been given opportunity to rewrite and reset our nation’s history. God through his Holy Spirit Has given us insights to analyze and explain problems in the past. We were positioned to see the patterns that were invisible that brought us to this place. We will be the people of prayer and action and impact our sphere of influence.
The question is will you answer the call? I say…Stay the Course and Hold the Line! Remnants have always shifted history!
“Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me,” (Isaiah 46:9)
“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4)
