WHAT WAS SENT TO EACH LEGISLATOR FROM PATRICK COLBECK ON THE FRAUD –
As a former Vice Chair of the Michigan Senate Elections and Government Reform Committee, I would like to bring to your attention several concerns regarding the 2022 election that I believe merit your attention as legislators.
These concerns are summarized in the following documents for your review:
- Questionable Results: Key questions and facts regarding canvassing activities which you may not be aware of.
- 2022 MI Election Incidents: Compilation of key anomalies identified to date.
- 2022 Election Incidents: Graphics in support of various incidents
Special thanks goes out to volunteers all across out state and even outside of our state to pull this together for your consideration. Many folks have had quite a few sleepless nights gathering, documenting and analyzing this information. It would be nice if these efforts were honored with the commencement of an investigation so that future elections may be conducted in a lawful, transparent manner. The collection, analysis and verification of incidents continues to progress, but I believe the attached information should be more than sufficient to justify the pursuit of a professional investigation into the veracity of the election results for what has been an demonstrably opaque and lawless 2022 election. Remember, under Article II Section 4 of the Michigan Constitution, our citizens have a right to an audit of statewide election results to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the election.
We have yet to have an audit of the 2020 election that meets the accuracy and integrity requirements of our Constitution. In support of this assertion, the latest state Qualified Voter File records reveal that there are over 180,000 ballots that were cast in the 2020 election that are not tied to a voter (significant in light of the reported 154,188 vote margin in the Presidential race). The official election results for President during that election show a 3,285 vote difference depending upon whether you trust the precinct results or the county results. Clearly, these results do not meet the accuracy standard of our Constitution nor do they give citizens confidence in the integrity of the election. There may be a perfectly logical explanation for these inaccuracies, but our citizens yet to see any audit trail that would explain these numbers. A full forensic audit of the entire election record chain of custody (QVF, poll books, ballots, vote tallies) would help us to understand why the Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has not been able to ensure accuracy and integrity in our elections. Regrettably, many of the election records that would have supported such an audit of the 2020 election were ordered to be destroyed by Jocelyn Benson prior to the elapsed 22 months of protection under federal law (USC Title 52 Section 20701). This record protection window for the 2022 election started on November 8, 2022. In the past, Jocelyn Benson has ordered the destruction of poll book data and tabulator flash drives once the election has been certified. As a minimum, please use your subpoena authority to secure these records from destruction at least until the federal protection window has lapsed.
In light of this information, please take action to commence a professional, transparent investigation of the entire election record chain of custody for the 2022 election. As my Math 116 professor used to say, “show me your work”. If you are confident in the election results, you should welcome such an investigation as it would embarrass and silence what many of you derogatorily refer to as “election deniers” once and for all – if you are right. If, however, the investigation confirms the existence of significant issues that call the election results into question, please be gracious enough to accept the need for reform and remediation.
Thank you for your consideration of this request,
Patrick Colbeck
