Tonight’s Call – PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE!

We may have heard the saying…the – good – the bad – and the ugly. We attempt on our call to cover all that we may be facing whether good or bad. The Bible encourages us not to be asleep in difficult times. The purpose for us is to be awakened to help others around us. Today we see exposure after exposure. We see an awakening taking place regarding the depths of bondage our nation has been thrust into because in my view the cause is a sleeping and apathetic church. But here we are the awakened ones! So, we must be encouraged knowing that God is at our side and understanding that His perfect love casts out all fears. We have his assurance in that. The joy of the Lord must be our strength. So as darkness has encompassed the world light is breaking forth. In this is what we must cling to in difficult times. I have chosen not to be negligent in regard to my own family and sphere of influence. I choose not to be willfully ignorant of the dangers we are facing as a nation. But I will do my best to quicken and awaken people so they can be a help to others in their sphere of influence. I believe it is all our responsibility who participate in our nightly calls to be a lifeboat and proclaim Jesus Christ.

We must be spiritually and physically prepared. The 10 virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 talked about five virgins who were prepared spiritually and had oil in their lamps. We must never be caught unaware of the devil’s devices. In that awareness God has equipped each and every one of us with spiritual gifts as light always dispels the darkness. Jesus said in Matthew 25:13 to always be watchful because we do not know the day or the hour or the Lord may return. I believe this also applies to the crisis that the world has been thrust into. Yes, our adversary the devil prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour but our defense is the whole armor of God. We must run into the battle and as the Word says when the Kingdom of God suffers violence the violent take it by force. Praise, worship, and prayer are our spiritual weapons. Being in God’s presence and under the shadow of his wings is the greatest defense against any evil we can face.

Should we physically prepare if we see a danger ahead? I believe it is our responsibility to do so if we are capable with the motive of heart to help those in need when troubled times come upon us. Warnings are an act of love. Should we not be thankful when a tornado or hurricane warning is given by the weather service. Yes! Storm clouds informed and are upon us. There is a time to take shelter and be prepared. In any physical preparation motive of heart is the key. Why are you doing what you’re doing? Is it to serve ourselves or God and others? I think you know the answer to this. God warned Noah and he prepared an ark. Jesus is our ark and lifeboat today. May we be those rescuers to those who are drowning in a sea of despair and hopelessness. The world is undergoing a radical change and things will not be as they once were. In saying this, I am an optimist and sincerely believe we will enter into a very blessed season in our lives. But here we are now fighting the war so may we be both spiritually and physically prepared.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13)

“Go to the end, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in the harvest.” (Proverbs 6: 6-8)

Lots of things in life can make us uncomfortable: ill-fitting shoes, a worn-out mattress, an air conditioner on the fritz, one spicy enchilada too many, and unpredictable boss. And what about when God Himself asks us to do things that are outside our comfort zones? Like most things in life, comfort comes in unhealthy and healthy varieties. The pursuit of comfort becomes unhealthy when we embrace a self-absorbed lifestyle that continually seeks ease and avoids any and every risk. It becomes unhealthy when troubles or sorrows come, and we try to numb our pain by escaping into amusement, pleasure, or addiction. We quickly learn the best earthly comforts don’t satisfy fully and don’t last. The leather recliner with cup holders gets lumpy within two years. The built-in massage function stops working. Your favorite sweatpants get holes in them. To die for macaroni and cheese makes you temporarily forget your troubles, but before long your favorite sweatpants don’t fit anymore!

Sometimes we see comfort in relationships, but those are permanent. Most of them are even long-term. We can try to take comfort in our health, but that can change on a dime. We can look for comfort in money, but we can’t take it with us when we die. So, what’s the healthy source of comfort? The apostle Paul urged us to turn to the God of all comfort. The word comfort is the same word Jesus used to describe the Holy Spirit. It means to call alongside. The picture is one who is present in times of trouble to speak words of encouragement and consolation. Here Paul reminds us that only God can provide true comfort that does not fade away. And buoyed by the divine comfort, we can do the uncomfortable thing of comforting others who hurt with the comfort we’ve received from God. What a great God! He comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others. Let God comfort you today so you can be a conduit of His comfort in the lives of those around you.

His church came into the spotlight when it refused to close for Covid 19 restrictions and mandates imposed by the California government. He began spearheading a movement to oppose all government overreach which denies religious freedoms. Recently, they went after the progressive liberalized voting laws in California. *PRAYER IN THE STATE CAPITOL MARCH 9TH 12 NOON – 2 PM – ROOM 426

The second Thursday of each month we would be praying inside the state capitol building in Lansing. The Michigan House of Prayer will be leading in room 426. The meeting is from 12 Noon-2 PM. We will be setting up at 11:30 AM. We will be praying for righteousness to return to our state. Praying for any sick legislators, staff members, or personnel will also be part of our efforts. Of course, any crisis situations that will have risen on a state or national level will be covered. We will be praying over legislators to make wise and godly decisions. Praise and worship will be part of the format of our gatherings. We all know that God inhabits our praises! This is a sacrifice of our time and resources, but Michigan hangs in the balance! We believe for signs, miracles, and wonders to break out. This type of outbreak will get our legislators attention in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ will go forth.
