Scriptures to meditate on:
Isaiah 33:5-6 Psalms 111:10 Proverbs 8:13
To fear the Lord is to respect and honor him as the Almighty God. Yes, He is our Loving father and our bridegroom, but he is also the God that hates injustice and sin. Hebrews 12 says Like a good father, He corrects and disciplines his children, yet, because He is slow to anger and patient, we seem to think we are the exception to the rule and He will over look our actions of disobedience. Ps 18:7
Then the earth shook and quaked; and the foundations of the mountains were trembling and shaken, because He was angry. Think about it, If the creation shook when he was angry what about us? If we the church of Jesus Christ has lost the fear of the Lord, and respect of our God, what will become of the lost in these last days?
Who will set the standard, in this up and coming generation?
Prayer: Father God, You are Holy, and your word is truth. I ask you to place in our hearts the fear of the Lord. Where we have disrespected you and not honored your presence forgive us. Where we have disregarded your word and disobeyed, forgive us.
Start with me, Lord, Deepen my love and respect for you and your holy word. Place within my heart this treasure of the fear of the Lord. May the church in this region awaken to who you are and your power.
In Jesus Name I pray this, Amen
