8 Things that Defile and Bring Curses to the Land

Intercession is a weapon in the hands of the Ekklesia who know how to come before the throne of God and the courts of heaven according to His Word.  It is strategic to our calling as believers to pray according to the purposes of God.  We seek to recognize and repent for any defilement of the land. 

The most effective intercession comes as we humble ourselves through worship and fasting.  Defilement’s of the land include violence, famine, barrenness, drought, floods, no strength to the land to bear fruit.  If we have inquired of the Lord, the Spirit will direct our prayers with precision to bring transformation and healing to our land.

So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap Before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30

Defilement’s:

  1.  Idolatry:  Any worship of the creation rather than the Creator.  Exodus 20:1-10.
  2. The Shedding of Innocent Blood:  includes murder, suicide, abortion, and human and animal sacrifice.  Numbers 35:33.
  3. Immorality:  includes adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, bestiality, sex orgies, sex with demons, pornography.  Leviticus 18:24-25.
  4. Contention, Envy, Quarrelsomeness, UN-forgiveness and Holding Offenses:  All these are strong negative emotions give the enemy a legal right to a person.  James 3:14-16.
  5. Occult Teaching and Practices:  Leviticus 19:25. Micah 5:12-13.
    • Witchcraft: Seeking and exercising power outside of God’s Order: voodoo, Santeria, spirit guides, Harry Potter, charms, curses, hexes, vexes, spells, incantations, psychic healings, etc.
    • Divination: tarot cards, fortune telling, Ouija beard, crystal balls, seances, ESP, clairvoyant, kabbala, and horoscope etc.
    • Mind Control: Hypnotism, astral projection, brainwashing, drugs (legal and illegal), alcohol, video games.
    • Satanism
    • Books, movies, TV programs, secret societies, which promote occult powers:  Be careful what you watch or allow into your homes.
  6. New Age Practices and Teachings:  Today’s New Age Temples could be sports arenas, theaters, or Internet.  Eastern religious influence in our schools and society such as Yoga and medications.
  7. Broken Covenants:  Isaiah 24:5-6.  These include divorce and broken Native American treaties.  Deuteronomy 28 establishes the understanding of keeping covenant between God and His people.
