Thoughts from Rick

There is a psychological state that people have the ability to put themselves into because of fear. It is a state where they will not receive warning admonitions about what may take place as they say – “it cannot happen to us”. They may also say that they don’t want to hear about it because it shakes any calm or peace they may presently have. Retired Lt. General Jerry Boykin once told me the worst state to be in during a time of conflict is to “freeze” and not do anything. This paralysis will ultimately lead to ones destruction. It is better to fight or run. God’s Word says to take the offensive by the way.

Why am I saying this? We are living in tumultuous times. There are many prophetic warnings being given. We as the church must prepare. It all begins with knowing and understanding God’s love for His people. We have assurances through His promises. One of God’s names in His promises to us is that He is Jehovah Shalom. Let’s take a look at this particular aspect of God’s nature and character.
The word Shalom means more than just peace that God wants to give us.
The Hebrew Lexicon describes Shalom as completeness, safety, soundness in body, welfare, health, prosperity, peace, quiet, a peace used of human relationships, tranquility, peace with God especially in covenant relationship and finally peace from war. Wrap your heart around this promise in these troubling days and move ahead in your calling and destiny. There is a great harvest time we have entered into and God is inviting you to be pro-actively engaged.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” – {1 John 4:18}
