Lou Engle and THE CALL are scheduled in Detroit on November 11, 2011. A 40 day national fasting and prayer is in progress until Nov. 7. Pre-Call events are being promoted as prayer altars before the main event.
November 11, 2011 is also Armistice Day. It was the end of World War I. Since I was involved with National Day of Prayer these national remembrance days touch my heart. This devotion is focused upon our nation. The following prayer was spoken by our founding father George Washington. Please pray with me.
Almighty GOD, we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection: That Thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government, and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large.
And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation.
Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” Psalm 50:15
In GOD we trust.
America the Beautiful – our national hymn (last verse).
O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years,
Thine alabaster cities gleam undimmed by human tears.
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
and crowned thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
