The Michigan Oak Initiative and the MI Coalition for Freedom are “Grassroots” organizations who hold to a governmental Biblical Worldview. Both organizations have many connections throughout Michigan and they desire to be an informational conduit. We see the importance of this upcoming Attorney General election for our state. We have sent the questions below to all 3 candidates for AG. We need to know the exact positions each candidate holds on issues that we are being challenged in our great State of Michigan. Much is at stake for our families and future generations. At this time only Matthew DePerno had responded.
1. The matter of election integrity is a chief concern of many Michigan voters on the heels of the widely-debated outcome of the 2020 election. What is the importance surrounding the need for conducting a forensic audit and what value does it hold for the people of Michigan?
Matthew DePerno: A forensic audit is a deep dive into the computer system, poll book, qualified voter file, procedures and processes, and paper. Examination of one without the other is meaningless. For instance, a hand recount of ballots is meaningless without a concurrent review of the paper itself, the processes, and the computer system. When we do a forensic exam of the voting computer system, we can see everything about that system prior to the date of the image.
We see all security updates, programs, updates, log files, recoverable deleted information, and network traffic. In Antrim County, Benson claimed a hand recount on December 17, 2020 proved the errors on November 3, 2020 (and retabulated on November 5 and 21) where nothing more than “human error.” This false narrative was promoted by the mainstream media and many elected officials (on both sides of the aisle). However, if we never ran forensics on the computer system, we would never have been able to prove this narrative was false.
We saw how the program and ballot maps were corrupted and how a computer script intentionally moved 7,060 votes from Jorgensen to Trump to Biden. We saw anonymous remote logins with elevated privileges on key dates (November 5 and November 17) that patched the system to manipulate the recount. We saw how system logs were intentionally deleted on November 4 at 11:03 pm (which is a crime). We saw how internet connections were manipulated through dedicated networks across the state, allowing 12 other counties access to the Antrim system (and vice versa). We saw how ballot manipulation and system tabulator settings created ballot and machine errors that sent ballots to adjudication with no oversight. We proved how Benson and Nessel intentionally covered up fraud to fit their narrative and agenda. With data from other states and counties, we proved a pattern of fraud and vote manipulation.
We proved how Benson and Nessel’s mail-in ballot scam (funded through misappropriation of taxpayer funds), combined with signature manipulation and illegal Zucker-boxes, created a playground for fraud. It was this fraud that Ed McBroom covered up when he refused to respond to emails, refused to review data, and refused to left me or my experts testify before his half-baked committee. He then used his report to attack fellow Republicans and protect Democrats. In short, a forensic audit is needed because it provides a gateway into the entire system and is the only way to expose fraud. We proved how the November 2020 election was total garbage.
2. What actions have you taken since the contention has been raised that the election was fraudulent on November 4, 2020?
Matthew DePerno: On November 23, 2020, I filed a lawsuit in Antrim County styled William Bailey v Antrim County and Secretary of State Benson, Case No. 20-9238-CZ. This is the most influential case regarding the 2020 election. Data from this case was used across the country in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nevada, and California (to name a few). I essentially set aside my law practice to work this case. Why? In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.” We all have the duty to defend the Constitution and take action.
The Bailey case is about protecting the individual constitutional rights of every Michigan voter, and, by extension, every registered voter in the country. Both the state and federal constitutions anchor the fundamental right of the people to govern themselves upon the prima facie assumption that the means by which they choose their representatives must be of ultimate purity and primary importance. If the right to vote is not protected, all other guarantees afforded by the Constitution are irrelevant because they are dependent upon the integrity of the franchise and the consecration of representative choice. The duty to protect this fundamental right must, of necessity, fall on all of us, for it is the only remaining barrier to degeneration of elections into mere contests of fraud rather than fair attribution of the will of the people to the designated representative of their sacred and sovereign choice.
The nation cannot survive as a constitutional republic if the government allows the transfer and adjudication of thousands of “votes” by non-delegated, unaccountable officials (without legally required oversight), the acceptance and counting of illegitimate or ghost votes, or the rank absence of any semblance of operational integrity in the electronic systems used to process ballots and tabulate votes. If we allow manipulation of ballots during and after they are processed, then the government cannot guarantee the fundamental constitutional rights of our citizenry are protected.
I have been attacked by elected government officials on both side of the aisle. While those attacks came, my opponents (presumably Republicans) in this race sat back idly and said nothing. Some of them, like Ed McBroom (who I have sued in the past) worked against me and America First values. Indeed, Tom Leonard has stated that he’s seen no evidence of election fraud. That is the difference me and the establishment.
3. We are right at the two year mark of the COVID-19 pandemic in this country resulting in controversial mask mandates and vaccine requirements. Where do you stand on these sanctions and in what direction will you take Michigan if elected as the next Attorney General?
Matthew DePerno: I have said many times that on Day 1 after I am elected and sworn-in there will be a new COVID variant. It will be called “Common Sense.” On Day 1, I will end mask mandates and vaccine mandates. The COVID-19 pandemic is about consolidating socialist power and manipulation of the citizenry. The premise is “mass line enforcement,” a concept created by Mao Zedong and the framework for Marxism. Saul Alinsky said “True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within.” These revolutionaries have infiltrated government and have pushed oppressive ideologies on us. The COVID-19 pandemic was used to suppress citizens constitutional rights, prevent assembly and free exchange of ideas, squash freedom of speech and religion, and disenfranchise voters.
Once gatherings were restricted. the Democrat party and the mainstream media (with the help of some Republicans like Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney) then used the pandemic to silence dissent on social media. I will investigate and prosecute the Whitmer, Benson, and Nessel for their misconduct and illegal actions taken when they locked down and closed businesses, fined people, and caused people to die. They died because of authoritarian and suppressive actions taken by militant Marxists like Dana Nessel. I am the only candidate in this race who will publicly commit to investigate and prosecute these tyrants.
4. What actions have you taken these past 2 years to defend personal/religious freedoms for MI citizens regarding Mask mandates and Vaccine requirements?
Matthew DePerno: I have counseled people and fought against the government against mask mandates and vaccine requirements. I am the only candidate who has stood against tyranny in schools and government agencies. For instance, a 27-year firefighter in Ann Arbor was terminated when he refused to take the “vaccine.” The government denied his religions exemption because they stated they did not believe in the veracity of his convictions. Imagine living in a country where the government judges a person’s faith. Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream.
It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was like in the United States where men were free.” Folks, we are there and I am the only candidate in this race actually fighting for America First values. I am also the only candidate in this race who has stood up to universities and fought for students’ rights. 5. Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s solution to the pandemic was to enforce a statewide lockdown. What has been your response to this lockdown and do you find it to be in the best interests of Michiganders?
Matthew DePerno: The lockdown was a clear violation of the Constitution. My response to the lockdown was to ignore it and counsel people to stand against it. It was not in the best interest of Michiganders and we are seeing this now. The fact that I am the only candidate in this race who fought against the lockdowns demonstrates that I am the only candidate qualified to fight against Dana Nessel; and she knows it.
6. What literal actions have you taken these past 2 years for the freedoms of MI citizens regarding lockdowns?
Matthew DePerno: Over the last 2 years I have been on the front line fighting against the totalitarian suppression of personal liberties and suppression of the First Amendment. When Governor Whitmer said only essential people can go to work and she locked down this state, I set aside my practice to offer my services to businesses and individuals, pro bono. I counseled people and recommended they not lock down, but stay open and fight against oppression and fight for their First Amendment rights. I gathered in Lansing for Operation Gridlock. I have counseled and advised children, young people, and their families regarding oppressive government tactics. I have helped families get their family members Ivermectin in hospitals and enforce their “right to try.”
If you follow my Twitter feed you will see me getting thrown out of a hospital. I have helped people who have been fired for refusing to take the mRNA “vaccine.” I have helped students claim their religious exemptions. Indeed, I am the only candidate in this race who can say that he has done anything to help anyone. I have not stood silently on the sidelines during this time while our friends have been persecuted. And what is more ironic is that I had no platform to do any of this other than the will to try. My opponents were actually elected officials (present and former) who had a platform and a law license but did nothing.
On September 6, 2020, Chad Livengood of Crain’s Detroit (and Tom Leonard’s friend) published a puff-piece on Tom Leonard. Tom actually stated that for the last year and a half “I was sent home and working in my basement working 17 hours a day working through executive orders with clients.” A person who submits to mass line enforcement and admittedly stays in his basement (a/k/a Joe Biden) is not qualified to stand up against tyranny as the new attorney general. It is rather pathetic.
7. Traditional conservatives advocate for pro-life initiatives and support the Second Amendment right to bear arms. Where do your beliefs fall on the conservative spectrum regarding these issues?
Matthew DePerno: I am the most conservative candidate in this race on both pro-life initiatives and the Second Amendment. I am a member of the NRA and fully support a constitutional carry amendment. There is nothing in the Second Amendment that permits restrictions on the right to bear arms. Registration equals confiscation. I have been endorsed by The Michigan Heartbeat Coalition, Abby Johnson, and Janet Porter. “Matt DePerno believes in “Personhood” which is “Life at Conception” and would support and fight for any legislation brought forward on this issue! But let’s be serious. Tom Leonard is a registered lobbyist.
In 2015 and 2016, when Tom Leonard was Speaker pro tempore, he refused to co-sponsor and advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HB 4851) and the Michigan Life at Conception Bill (HB 4279). In fact, it was Michigan Right to Life that fought with Tom against both of these bills and effectively killed them. Let’s understand the quintessential aspect of lobbying and the right to life movement by these neocon establishment groups: if there is no abortion, you can’t fundraise off abortion. Let’s stop playing games and politics with the lives of the unborn.
8. What literal actions have you taken these past number years to defend Life in the Womb and the Second Amendment?
Matthew DePerno: I have been on the front-line fighting for the life of the unborn speaking to people and advocating for life. I make no exception. When I interviewed with Right to Life, they demanded that I promote exceptions to abortion. I refused. Think about that: Right to Life actually demanded that I promote specific exceptions to abortion that align with their progressive positions. I did not. Tom Leonard got the endorsement. The 1931 Michigan law that prohibits abortion remains on the books. When I am elected as Attorney General, I will enforce this law. Dana Nessel will not.
9. Recently, many school districts have elected to begin teaching Critical Race Theory in our schools. Where do you stand on this subject being added to our children’s educational curriculum?
Matthew DePerno: Critical Race Theory (CRT), Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) are a disaster and destruction to our country and local communities. They are unconstitutional. We do not force one group of people to adopt the views of another group. That is communism. After I am elected and sworn into office, on Day 1, I will end the teaching and advancement of CRT, DEI, and SEL in schools, universities, and all public agencies.
10. What literal actions have you taken these past 2 years to stand up against this assault on parents/children and our schools?
Matthew DePerno: I have been on the front-line fighting these issues and counseling people to stand up to the tragic destruction of our schools. I have filed lawsuits against school districts to protect the constitutional rights of students. They want to teach our children to hate God, their country, and their parents. I have encouraged and enlisted people to run for school board, mayor, and county commissioner.
I have encouraged people to stand against school boards, despite the proclamations of Merrick Garland. No other candidate in this race can match my advocacy on these issues. I have appeared at over 130 events over the last 2 years speaking on these issues to grassroots organizations. My opponents have been sheltered inside the hallowed halls of government building and in their basement. That is pathetic.
11. Across the nation and in Michigan, we see much exposure regarding sexual impropriety. What is the responsibility of any Attorney General regarding handling these accusations? Were you previously aware of the Chatfield situation that has been in the news?
Matthew DePerno: The Attorney General has the duty and responsibility to handle cases of statewide importance or that cross county lines. Sex trafficking and sexual misconduct is a huge issue in this state. I am the only candidate in this race who talks about these issues. I was not aware of the Lee Chatfield alleged criminal enterprise that apparently encompasses many elected officials until the story broke in the news. Others cannot say that. It is no wonder that 3 Republican district chairs who support Tom Leonard have told me that I will not be the candidate who protects the party.
They want these scandals to go away; but the Democrats and media will use them to destroy the chances of every Republican in the general election. Think I’m wrong? They are already doing it. Rather, we must expose the truth behind these sex scandals. We must protect our children. For too long, these issues have been ignored. It is for this reason I have called on Tom Leonard to return the $72,500 given to him by Lee Chatfield and his dark money PACs and answer for the $62,500 he gave to Lee Chatfield. So far, he has refused to return the money. Pride has kept scandal ridden candidates in this race. Proverbs 11:2 says “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”
12. What percentage of your donor base would be considered corporate or lobbyist donors and what percentage is from the Grassroots?
Matthew DePerno: The DePerno campaign has almost 1,400 individual donors from 48 states. We have received 99% of donations from grassroots individuals. Tom Leonard has 303 individual donations comprising 1% of his donations. The remaining 99% of his donations come from PACS and lobbyists. Of that $52,000 are illegal donations Tom Leonard taught Lee Chatfield how to run multiple dark money PACs and 501(c)(4) organization.
We now see constant news stories about these allegedly illegal money laundering schemes and how they funded illicit meetings at adult strip clubs in Detroit. Lee Chatfield is currently under criminal investigation for his management of these funds, child trafficking, and sexual assault of a minor. This investigation will continue long after the endorsement convention and November 2022 general election. If Tom Leonard wins the endorsement convention, these scandals and his close ties to Lee Chatfield will be exposed and used by the Democrats.
They are already asking questions and building a dossier on Tom. If by unlikely chance, he is able to navigate through these sex and money scandals and wins in November, he will be immediately disqualified from any investigation and will have to spend millions of dollars funding private lawyers to investigate. Under Tom Leonard’s failed leadership, he refused and failed to pass legislation that would expose these dark money and illegal PACs and 501(c)(4). With today’s allegations of so much impropriety and Tom’s own illegal finance scam, it is no wonder he doesn’t want transparency.
13. If elected AG will you hold people accountable in this present administration who have broken the law regarding election improprieties in this past election?
Matthew DePerno: On October 12, 2021, I gave a speech on the steps of the Michigan Capitol. As I defended America First values, the large crowd chanted “lock her up.” Dana Nessel is a lawless Attorney General. She failed and refused to investigate or prosecute Jocelyn Benson for the fraud committed during the November 2020 election. After that speech, Dana Nessel demanded appearances on Rachel Maddow and Morning Joe because she knew she had to combat my speech. Dana Nessel stated, ” NESSEL: Honestly, it’s terrifying. And it’s hard to believe this is the democracy that we know and love in this country and how quickly it’s deteriorating. And knowing that — I believe Mr. Deperno when he talks about prosecuting me in the event that he successful and he defeats me in 2022. I believe him when he says he will produce me and prosecute people like me.
I think he’ll prosecute our governor and our secretary of state and anyone else who he believes in any way shape or form has not supported Donald Trump. And that’s exactly why Donald Trump supports him for the position of Michigan attorney general knowing how crucial that position is as a swing state AG and the role that swing state AGs play in presidential elections in upholding the rule of law and ensuring the person that actually received the most votes gets our electoral votes.
First, not a democracy. Second, she is correct. I will investigate and prosecute this lawless trio that did so much damage to this state and its citizens. I am happy to say that Dana Nessel is right. When I am elected, I will do everything in my power to end the “democracy” created by the modern-day leftists, liberals, progressive Republicans, and neo-cons. I will restore Michigan to a Constitutional Republic. The fact that my opponents are not on board with me shows they are not qualified to be Attorney General. We are going 100 miles per hour off the socialist cliff. They want to slow us down and go 50 miles per hour off that cliff. I will turn us around and go in the opposite direction.
